Q: What toys make the best gifts for the holidays?

A:
Rushing last minute to get baby a gift? Unsure of what to get? We asked Ali Wing, owner of Giggle.com for her top age appropriate toy stars the year.

0-3 Months
Newborns are fascinated with Manhattan Toy's Color Burst Mirror. In the early months, they can't sit up or hold on to anything, but they can look around, so anything that's visually stimulating is bound to be extra appealing—especially when it's their own face! The Color Burst Mirror can be propped up on the floor during tummy time, or attached to the side of the crib. They'll have fun with this one for the next couple of years! Manhattan Toy, $20

3-6 Months
Something I love for three to six month olds is Under the Nile's Fruit Teethers. Presented like a fruit basket, the teethers are shaped like different fruits. And they're made of 100% organic cotton, so it's okay if it ends up in baby's mouth—which they will. Under the Nile, $26

6-9 Months
As babies get a little older, they start learning not only how to grasp but to release, so for six to nine month olds we love the Bowling Buddies set. This sort of play encourages motor skill development—plus it's just good fun. Made from plush organic cotton, the nine animal pins and ball are cute as can be. And for a little extra fun, add the soft Jingle Ball; the sweet sound effects make it extra engaging. Giggle, $45

9+ Months
For nine months and up, walking is the next big thing. And a pull toy is a fun companion for the toddling baby. The Wooden Elephant Pull Toy from FAO Schwartz is a colorful way to encourage little ones to get up on their feet. It's also made from sustainably harvested rubberwood, so it's a gift you can definitely feel good about. FAO Schwartz, $13
