Vicki has been a practicing pediatrician for over 20 years and lives in downtown Manhattan with her husband, two children (a 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl) and puppy. She's a Pennsylvania native, but has lived in NYC since she fell in love with the city almost 20 years ago. When she's not in the office, you'll find her on the slopes, watching her kids compete in ski races... and trying to keep up on her own set of skis!

my daughter is now 4 weeks old and started haveing blood in her stool 11 days ago the doctor blamed it on constipation but for the past 7 days she has had diarrhesa with blood in it now the doctor says she may be allergic to the formula with my and my husbands history of allergies to cows milk does this sound acurrate or should i seek another doctor?

Expert Dr. Vicki Papadeas

my son is 4 months old and was given his 4 month vaccines yesterday...today he has a runny nose and is only sleeping maybe 30 minutes and then wakes up...he will eat about 2-3ozs of formula and then is unhappy crying and screaming...he has been up for 3 hours now mostly crying the whole time...he was born 9 weeks early...should I take him to the doctor?
