Guest Expert, Dr. Cheryl Wu

Cheryl has been a pediatrician for two years and works out of LaGuardia Place Pediatrics in New York along with Dr. Vicki Papadeas. Her approach to treating patients involves a lot of parent education and empowering parents to trust their own instincts. Cheryl was born in Ohio, but grew up in Taiwan and when she returned to the U.S. at age 11, she had to learn English all over again. If she weren't a doctor today, she'd probably be a fashion designer. (Since the competition would've been too fierce, she went to medical school instead.) She currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and one year-old son.

Cheryl's Advice
Dealing with diaper rash?
Modified immunization schedule?

My 3th month old son will not sleep at night.  I keep trying to keep him up longer but I am so exhausted I can't keep him awake.  He sleeps in the day and is up from 11pm until 4am.Help me!

MY SON IS THREE AND UNCIRCUMSIZED, MY PEDITRICIAN KEEPS PULLING THE SKIN BACK AND TRYING TO OPEN THE HOLE SO THAT THE SKIN PULLS BACK OVER THE HEAD, BUT WE TOOK HIM TO A URIOLOGIST WHEN HE WAS ONE AND WAS TOLD TO LEAVE IT ALONE. CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR OPINION ON THIS. SHOULD WE TAKE HIM TO THE SPECIALIST AGAIN? OR LEAVE IT ALONE.

re: Guest Expert, Dr. Cheryl Wu

Hello!  I am trying to keep my baby entertained and at almost 6months, he seems to be going pretty fast...  What kind of toys can I get for him to keep him going?  He does not like to sit with me anymore, but enjoys tummy time and sits independently.  I already have a little gym that allows tummy and back time.  What else can I get my hands on to encourage learning as well as fun?  Thank you!

When looking for a Pediatrician do you think it is important to find one that visits the newborn in the hospital. Also when should the 1st visit be?
