Q: I recently had two consecutive nights of all night sex
dreams! I’m talking intense orgasms and
everything! Is this normal and does it
stick around?
Erika Lenkert: First off, good for you! Second, I don't believe there is
such a thing as "normal" when it comes to pregnancy. I like to
consider each experience as unique and solely your own. From that perspective,
it's easy to embrace all of the wild and crazy things that happen, even when
they fall outside of the paths of pregnancy books or mommy friends.
All that said, during pregnancy it
is very common for women to either become virtual sex machines or go the
complete opposite direction. My number-one pregnancy craving was sex. I wanted
it ALL THE TIME during my entire pregnancy. (Too bad my husband didn't.) But
it's entirely possible to roller coaster between diametric levels of desire
depending on the trimester, your self-image, and myriad other factors that
regularly incite a woman to feel frisky or frigid.
Whatever the case, you should
definitely have fun with and wholeheartedly celebrate your newfound
lasciviousness. Soon enough you'll have an entirely new situation that's equally
likely to affect your sex life in unexpected ways.
Oh! An added bonus: Orgasms tend
to be more intense while pregnant. And what's not to like about that!
