I am currently 5 weeks pregnant. i have been training for a marathon that takes place on March 21st. I am suposed to run 20 miles today/this weekend. Where this is my first child, should I postpone running the marathon and can I continue to run 5 or 6 miles per day?

Thank you!

re: Expert Tracey Mallett

I workout and do cardio about 5 to 6 days a week. I rotate between my eliptical and workout tapes. When is it not safe to workout this much? My tapes have alot of jumping and squating and core work, is it safe to continue using these tapes so early on in my pregnancy. My screen name is Kwhite81.

re: Expert Tracey Mallett

I recently began a half-marathon training program. I'm only about 3 weeks into it and I just found out I am about 6 weeks pregnant.  At this point in my training, I have only just started running for short periods in between walking.  Can I continue to train? Up to what point? I would like to work up to running about 4 miles at a time (4 days per week). I have done the training before but quit, and I didn't have any problems then.

I just read that Jenna Jameson did 500 sit ups a day while preggers with her twin boys. Is that even safe?

re: Expert Tracey Mallett

We are trying to conceive, I have had a miscarriage in January and I am already at a high risk because of my endometrosis.  I actually gained a lot of weight the first time i was pregnant in december even though that was only a month because i was nauseous all the time.. My question is, I am a very active person and i want to excersise.  I usually excersise 3 times a day and i would like to start using weights again, 10 pounders....How much is too much and should i wait till after the I am pregnant or after my first trimester is done??  can you recommend any dvd's or books for exersises..
