Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

Posted Monday, July 09, 2007 5:03 PM

Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

I am at 25 weeks and am not certain I am feeling movement, if not for my growing tummy, I am having such a quiet, calm wonderful pregnancy I would not even know I was pregnant. Should I not be feeling the baby by now?

This is next week for me!! I cannot wait til DH can hear the heartbeat just by putting his ear to my belly!!! I had my 24 week appt this morning and Jakob is so active it was hard for OB to catch the heartbeat!!

I like to eat cold things this makes my little Ashton move. I don't know to think that is big or small for him. I haven't gained too much so it kinda seems big. I only gained 4.5 pound and he is 2 of that WOW.

My eggplant is a little big!  We went for an u/s yesterday and he weighs 2 lbs 8 oz.  What a piggy!  That's nearly a quarter of the weight I have gained!

An eggplant is so big!  No wonder I'm getting so big!  :)  I think the get the weight based on baby's measurements during an u/s.  I don't think its precise just an estimate.

i always giggle in the grocery store now...espcially at the size of eggplants! my baby is all over the place.  when i get kicked in the ribs i just apply little pressure there with my hands and baby moves to another place that's more comfortable to kick lol! my mom, dad, and hubby have all put their ear up to my belly and heard the heartbeat (and got kicked too lol)

Only 2.2lbs up to week 28?!  I had an ultrasound at week 24 that showed one twin being 1 lb, 11 oz, and the other was 2 lbs!  I think they're definitely going to be VERY big eggplants by the time this month is over!

jazzbaby09- YES! I'm having problems sleeping in our bed lately. I'll start out there, wake up at 2am almost ev night and then migrate to the couch to sleep a few more hours... how strange! I was even considering purchasing a new lower bed/mattress since ours is pretty high right now... either that or get a step stool since it hurts "down there" to get in/out of it! GL to you!

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

I also cannot sleep in my bed. The only place I feel comfortable is on the couch, reclining. I guess I am not alone. Our little girl moves all the time and she gets more active when she hears her daddy come home! It is so cute. My husband loves the fact that she is already a daddy's girl.

Good Luck to all of us eggplants!

Ok my last sono said that he weighed almost 2 lbs,  but I learned the last time not to listen to the weight they say during a sonogram.  My 1st pregnancy they told me at 36 weeks that he was going to be a big baby and weighed over 8lbs and to expect to deliver early.  Well I did deliver at 37 weeks. but he was no 8 lbs.  He only wieghed 6lbs 9oz.  Big difference from what the sonogram said he weighed!!!

My friend has her baby, and they told her at 36 weeks, that he was about a 7 pound baby. Then she had him 8 days past her due date and he was only 5 pounds and some oz. Hes teensy!! I feel her moving and flipping like crazy now. I should have her room all set up and ready to go in the next couple weeks. I'm excited to finally have her home and in her room. I plan on getting a 3D ultrasound done in the next couple weeks so i can get a glimpse of what my darling looks like.  I'm 25 weeks and i've had only one ultrasound from my doctors office. I dont think they plan on doing another one until im 34 weeks or so. I really wish i would have changed doctors a while back ago.

Aww, how cute, a little eggplant!  My baby moves so much, I think now it would be weird to me if she wasn't moving all the time!

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

This is so awesome, I did not have this informaton with my other two, so to know that our little one is as big as an eggplant is just amazing. This is the most active of the three for sure, my fiance likes to joke and say the baby is throwing a party in the womb.  I have more difficulty this time around, short of breath, nausea, constant tiredness, hungry A LOT, and mood swings like crazy. But I am still so excited.

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

u/s today, the tech said the baby looks like a BOY!!!!! We are so excited, I can't wait to hold him. Having 3D/4D done in about 1 month, that is going to be so neat.

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

Congratulations amybby, i am also having a baby girl too!  or should i say a little jack rabbit because she's moving and kicking so much-  As for the back pain i can totally understand the whole crippling back pain you're experiencing... just this weekend alone i began to do some housework and before you know it i had cleaned the entire place spic & span... but i so payed the price for it- i could barely walk after that; and i have been like that ever since.  What have you done to help alleviate your pain?

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

CMEJIAS140;;

oh i know! its terrible && just keeps getting worse.

what i do to help ease it is just lay down on my back for a few min && then switch to my side or sit up straight.

&& if that doesnt work;; i massage it.

theres not much we can do about all the pains which suxx! :(

I can't believe how big he is already! he kicks all the time and I love it. Is anybody having bad acid reflex or heartburn?? I am getting it nonstop! And my legs keep cramping at night from laying so much on my sides.

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

My belly seems bigger than just one eggplant.  lol the way this one kicks, you would think it was tring out of a sports team.  every moring at 430 i get a good kick in the lulu area, just so i can wake up to eat a piece of fruit.  crazy huh..

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

I am so glad to find out that its not just me who has to go to the bathroom 100 times a day for a few tinkles. Also, that others are feeling like they have soccer players and ninjas in their bellies. Its such a great experience and makes me feel better to know that there are others going through the same thing I am. My little girl wakes me every morning as well, hungry. A yogurt or granola bar usually does the trick, but seems as though she is a little greedy some mornings. LOL

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

My little one is SOOOO active, most often in the mornings as I'm getting ready for work, and as soon as I get home, until bedtime.  NONstop. LOL!  I can't remember how much I've gained so far, I think it's 10lbs... I'm 27 weeks tomorrow... Setting up the crib this week!!  Even with baby #4, it just never ceases to amaze me how much I am looking forward to holding this little angel!

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

I"m soo excited to see my eggplant!! I'm almost 26 weeks and I have gained 33lbs already!!! I feel like such a fatty, I'm 5'6 and never been over 135lbs before so it's very hard to gain sooo much weight.  My doctor said I need to watch my weight because I've gained too much already.  Any suggestions on what I could do to exersize or stay fit??

re: Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

I feel bad cuz I crave alot of sweet things too with my son. They make him go crazy. I am 28 weeks now; Demetre moves so much its insane. For the most part it tickles and I laugh. I love him so much already; I think only a real woman who is becoming a mother could understand the bond of loving someone like this that you never see. He's with me every second of the day, doing whatever the heck he's doing in there, and I am so happy.
