Q: Stress and TTC?

Q: Can stress really cause or contribute to infertility?

Dr. Joseph Hill: Stress can certainly ruin one's life, but as long as regular menstrual cycles are present, it probably does not have significant effects on fertility. However, stress that comes from intense psychological factors, strenuous exercise (such as marathon training) or eating disorders can contribute to ovulation dysfunction and irregularities, which can in turn lead to infertility.

re: Q: Stress and TTC?

My husband and I have been trying for six months to get pregnant. I have irregular periods and having a difficult time calculating my ovulation. I start spotting days before my actual period starts. I was wandering is this caused by stress. Am I suppose to count the spotting as a part of my cycle when calculating my ovulation? Please help me.

re: Q: Stress and TTC?

I was told that you count the day that you actually start you full, heavy flow, not on the days that you are spotting. I have been trying the ovulation as well and it does take a little getting used to.  My husband and I are TTC as well going on 3months now and it does get a little stressful but I have to continue to relax and my family keeps reminding me that it will happen with God's blessing.  So hang in there my sista! and keep in touch!
