As legend has it, this chart predicts baby's gender with 90% accuracy. Does it work for you?

Nope! Unless the baby was actually concieved earlier then I thought. We concieved right at the begining of the month so I guess that is possible but I really don't think so!

Well, I've seen a couple different versions of it, some that ask for your *lunar* age, which can be different, and some like this. If you go by my real age, it's correct, but if you go by my lunar age, it's wrong.

It was accurate for us (and for when my mother had me) but then again we didn't know the EXACT date of conception like my mother did so I based it off of when the Dr. said we conceived- which is only as accurate as due dates are, and we know those change weekly!

In all honesty; you are supposed to find your lunar age and use that age, not your actual age from your birth date. Hopefully they will create a lunar age finder, so that it can be completely accurate. For instance, I was 27 when the baby was conceived; but my lunar age at conception was 28.

Haven't found out yet, it says girl. I did the math for my son and it's wrong however I've seen this before and it was right for my son. This one might be off by a bit. Try googling one and compare them. Overall it's been right for a lot of friends and family.

All of the other charts tell you to add 1 year if you're over a certain age. All of those charts were right, the one here was not.

Not at all!!! I was 23 at the time of conception, we conceived in November, but we are not having a boy. It worked for all of my friends so we went ahead and planned on having a boy, and bought all boy stuff, now we have to take it all back and start over.

This was accurate for my first child, a beautiful baby girl, but only time will tell if it is correct that I am having a bouncing baby boy this time around! lol I agree with others, though, who say this chart is different than others on the web. Others do ask for your "lunar" age or "chinese" age, which are different from your actual age. But even using those ages this happened to be correct the first time for me. Of course it had a 50/50 chance... I would take these results with a grain of salt!

It was wrong for me and all of my friends! You cant predict that! However I did read somewhere you can improve your chances of having a girl by having sex a day or so before you ovulate because the male sperm swim faster so they will die off by the time the female sperm arrive to the egg. If you want a boy have sex the day of conception. Of course their is no exact method of choosing the sex of a baby but this may help!

Does anyone know if the Chinese Gender chart goes by the time you actually get pregnant or does it go by the last period? I am wanting to try for a boy so I will start TTC in July. I will have an ovulation cycle at the beginning of July and the end. If I get pregnant at the beginning of July is that really considered June since my last period was in June?

BellyShelly - I will tell you this much ... the chart says I should be having a boy but I'm actually having a girl. When I was TTC, I charted my basal body temperature and checked my cervical mucus religiously. I mistakenly stopped having sex THREE days before I ovulated! But, I still got pregnant and I believe that is how we ended up with a girl. My point is, check into the Shettles Method. If you want a boy, time intercourse as closely as possible to ovulation. Also, I highly recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler.

This chinese chart is different than all the other ones I've found on line. The one at www.laboroflove.com was right for 8 out of 9 of the babies in my family. It says that I'm pg with a boy now but your chart says girl.

Nope! From what I can tell with friends it over predicts girls. It said girl for me and my 20 week u/s shows (pretty unmistakably) a boy. Same for my SIL with both her boys! Oh well!

Haven't found out the sex yet, but I tried chinese gender predictors on several other sites and they all came up the same: boy. However, theBump's predictor comes up a girl. Is theBump using the right calendar for their predictor? It seems off.

NOPE!!! My oldest was a girl, said I was having a boy, with my son it said I should have had a girl and my two youngest were girls and boys were predicted!!! Four times it was wrong!!! It did work for my friend though.... She also used the Shettles Method so who knows? :-D

WRONG...I did the Chinese gender predictor at the beginning of my pregnancy and totally convinced myself (and those around me) that i was having a girl. But at our 20 week ultrasound, we saw all of Max's manhood with the first swip of the wand. I could not be happier, though, to have my little boy!!

We have not yet had our ultrasound to determine gender of the baby so we should know if it is accurate in a couple weeks. However one thing I noticed with this calendar is that on the ACTUAL chinese calendar they say to ADD ONE YEAR TO YOUR AGE because the chinese consider you to be a year old when you are 1st born. Maybe that's why so many people are saying it was wrong.

i'm hoping for a boy, so i'm hoping its right for me! but i read the chart for my mom, and my mother-in-law for ALL their kids. the only time it was incorrect was in the case of my mom when she had boy-girl twins when she was 38. it said she'd have a boy.
every other time it was right! i couldn't check when i was conceived because my mom was 17, it doesn't go that young. lol.

Since my birthday is the day after christmas, if you put in that I was 29 when I concieved (about 2 weeks after my birthday), then yes, it was right (we're having a girl!) but if you use my actualy age at conception, 30, it was wrong.

nope it was wrong for me, in fact every single gender test I have taken has said boy, I have taken like 10 not one said girl but I have had two ultrasounds one at 17 weeks and one at 21 weeks and it is a baby girl!!!

Well of course my little one is stubborn but the tech said about 70% sure we are having a girl which is what this chart said!! I also took one of those at home gender tests.. Inteligender that said i was having a girl as well.. :)

several of my friends tried it...and it was correct, says boy for me but I have awhile to find out...also found another site that says you're to use your chinese age and lunar month...I did that (which was different from actual age/month)...but it still said boy. Guess we'll see!

It was right the first time with DD, and we were so excited, we followed this chart when we planned #2, to have the opposite gender, and that time it was wrong! We got DD#2, but we're thrilled with her anyway! :) 1/1...Hopefully #3 will give us a DS, but we're not getting our hopes up!

I tested both of my kids, me, my sister, my friends son, my other friends daughter and son and only one of them was wrong. I think this test can and will only be accurate if you have the month of conception accurate. If you try to test your moms conception and she was born 2 weeks early, it's possible that she was actually conceived the prior month. So it's really kind of iffy. I am going to go by the chart to determine when we are going to try and conceive to see if that works. I'll let you all know ;)

i'm not pregnant yet, but i saw this chart and was curious. so i used my info as well as the info of my 2 siblings and it was right for all 3 of us.
my older sister was born 2 weeks late so math said she was conceived in january while my mother was 25.
i was born close to my due date, conceived in june when my mom was 28.
my younger brother was born 2 months early, yet conceived in november when my mom was 30.
it matched up for all 3 of us.

I have always seen the chinese calender to use the mothers age when she gives birth rather than when she conceives. With that age being used my prediction is right, not by using the age of conception.

I think it's important to mention that when putting in your age on a Chinese Gender Chart like this, you must consider your lunar age. That may be why some of you had incorrect responses. In addition, the Chinese calendar is different from ours. Google it, it's very interesting!

Curious how many people have found the one to be right where you use your lunar age? I found that one and it said girl, whereas the one here said boy! We'll see which was "accurate".

Nope. According to this test, we were having a boy. Found out last month that we're definitely having a girl in May. I asked the u/s tech to double check to make sure!. I took another Chinese predictor elsewhere that had a complex calculation to determine my age...that one did state that we would have a girl...

The Chinese gender chart is based on LUNAR age and the Chinese calendar, which is very different. Dear Bump editors: you need to add a lunar age calculator based on the year/month the woman was born instead of simply asking for her age. i've known what i was having a girl for a couple months now, but i tried it out just for fun, and yes, it was right. it said i would have a girl. Then for fun i did my age and conception from 3 years ago when i had my son, and it was right again! it said boy. Pretty crazy!!

I had my 1st son at 16 years old and the chart doesn't go down that far. It was right for my 2nd and 3rd son. The chart now says I am to have a girl. I guess I will find out if the chart was right or not in 3 months during my u/s. I am praying that it is right with my 4th and final child!!!

This chart is not very accurate because it's not the correct version of the Chinese Lunar Chart. The correct version asks for mother's age at giving birth and month of conception. This chart asks mother's age at conception and month of conception. The correct Lunar version has been accurate for every mom I know, back to my mom. Something else that could throw off the correct calculation is if the mom has a birthdate close to the baby's due date, so the mom won't know how old she will be when giving birth which is what happened with my mom. This site's version was correct for the general guess (matching age and month) but was incorrect for the more detailed day of conception page. (And I was IVF so I know for sure when that was!) :-)

Honestly, unless you chart you won't know the exact date of conception. Also seeing as this is a "Chinese" predictor the mother's age must be 1 year older than their real age & also the date of conception would be referred to the lunar calendar. You have to convert the Julian date of conception to the lunar date first. Ex: my conception date was Feb 3, 2010 so the lunar date of conception is actually Dec 20, 2009. My real age is 30 therefore my lunar age is 31. So according to this predictor I will be having a girl going by the lunar calendar. If I was going by the Julian calendar I would be having a boy.

Well, based on my "western" age at conception, the chart was wrong. Said I was having a boy, but it's a girl. However, when I read the previous post about how the Chinese calculate age, and checked the chart again, if I use my "Eastern" age (+1 year) it is correct...

If I go by my "last day of my period," then it was correct. If I go by the date of conception, it was wrong. I was right on the borderline so it could have gone either way. ............. With my 2nd pregnancy, I am in the middle of 4 months in a row that all say BOY. We dont know the sex yet, so we'll see if it holds true or not. But it should definitely be a boy according to the Chinese gender chart.

I didn;t know about the Chinese Gender Chart when I was pregnant with my DD, but I checked it against her month of conception and my age. It said Girl.
So I used it this time and it says. We just had our sonogram yesterday and sure enough. We are expecting a DS this time.

yes, this worked for me! It predicted we would be having a girl. At my 16 week ultra sound they said girl. I just saw my high risk maternal fetal specialist and she confirmed it as well. 20 weeks Pregnant and it is still a girl! ha ha. I say this bc my cousin just had a baby and they told her the whole time it was going to be a little boy.....she had a girl! Something is seriously wrong with that Dr. I think.

It has benn spot on for me with all 7 of my pregnancies. I actually used it to decide when to conceive our daughter who will be here in just a few days. It's weird but freakishly accurate. Altough this one only claims 90% accuracy others that I've found claim a 97% accuracy rate.

Yes!!! I was concerned it would be wrong because our conception date was at the very end of the month (and the following month says girl) -- But it was right. Age was 27, conception month was December-- We Are Having a BOY!!! :)

your actually supposed to find out your chinese age first. IE: Mine is 26 and it says boy, if I use 23, which I was at the time, its a girl. It did work using the correct chinese age on my mom and sister with each of their kids it was right

But really, how can anyone trust a chart that says 11 out of 12 babies conceived by 21-year-olds will be girls? I think that's pretty easy to disprove.

It was right with my first daughter and with a lot of my friends' pregnancies. This time around it said I was having a boy (as did a few other old wives tales: carrying lower, etc.) so I started believing I was having a boy. Sure enough at our 20 week ultrasound we're having another girl!
My theory on gender prediction: whatever name you don't have going into the 20 week ultrasound, or whatever name was more of a struggle to come up with is the gender you're having. Both times my husband and I walked into the ultrasound room we did not have girl names. A lot of my friends have also found this to be the case.

amazingly It got my 2 previous pregnancies right (after they were born), I think im going to have another girl, and it predicted that I am going to have a girl this time around..i PRAY it's right :) If not, then, as long as my baby is healthy :)

Incorrect for me. I'd tested it with a few of my friends that have had kids recently and it was all correct when predicting theirs. It told me I was going to have a baby girl. I went to my ultrasound last week and I'm having a baby boy! I now don't believe it, but i'll still play with it when my husband and I decide to have another one.

Yes, it was accurate for me. One note though. I turned 29 two months after I got pregnant. To find out the sex of my baby I put the 29 age. If I were to put the real age at conception (28), the result would have been different.

Editors at the Bump FAILED TO MENTION that you have to use your lunar age and not gregorian. Ancient Chinese always used the lunar calendar. Might might a difference to some as it did for me.

it was right for me! i was 22 and conceived in august (i just turned 23 in november)so it said it was a boy! i was hoping for a boy and had a sense it was going to be a boy (i had a few dreams that it was a boy, too)... anyway, i had my ultrasound today and it's without a doubt a boy! :)

this predictor seems to be more accurate, mainly because it calculates the mother's lunar age before making the prediction based on the chart. Which actually makes sense when you realize that when the chart was created China relied soley on a lunar calendar.

Ok, it is too early to see if it's correct for me but we put in my mom's info and it predicted a girl (me) then we put in HER mom's info. We weren't 100% sure so we tried 2 ages and 2 months and out of the 4 results it said girl 3 times

It was wrong! Thing is I could have conceived when i was 22 at the end of june or when i was 22 in the beginning of July. But then on July 3rd I turned 23 so I even tried July when I was 23 and all of them said I was having a girl when I'm pregnant with a boy!

The Chinese gender predictor uses the Chinese age count (one year old at birth, and gain one year at every Chinese New Year), and the lunar calendar. So even though the calender is accurate, the way we use it is not going to show the correct result.

I have compared this to a traditional chinese gender chart a friend of mine (from China) sent me and it does not match up at all. This one said I would have a boy (even if I conceived 2 months before or after I did) and we're having a girl. Not only may this be inaccurate in terms of prediction, but it's not even accurate compared to the proper charts used in China (from what I've seen and been told). I will give it a thumbs up for cuteness though...

The Chinese Predictor was NOT right for us. It predicted a boy (which is what my husband wanted) and we are having a girl. She is healthy so far so that is really the most important thing. Needless to say my husband was disappointed with the Chinese Predictor. LOL!

I went for an ultrasound about a week ago and was told that the baby is a girl. My chart told me that the baby would be a boy. I am happy either way but before I jump to getting the nursery ready I plan to double check.

So, I did it for our two boys and on my age it came up wrong for one of them, so I remembered that sex is determined by the male and I put in my husbands age, it came up right both times. Not that I believe in it, but I hope and pray we will have a girl this time, guess we will find out in June.

Not at all, I have 2 daughters now, one born in November 1999, and a newborn girl born in March 2011. Both times the Chinese gender prediction was wrong. They were showing boys both times. I am glad that they were wrong, because my husband and I wanted girls :)

On other websites it tells you to add 9 months to your age.. If i do that it's accurate for my two kids and my sisters two kids. 4 out of 4! :)

My mother had 6 boys. According to this tool, she has 1 boy and 5 girls. Way off, if anything its backwards.

hmm...i think you need to calculate it in Chinese Calender...for me this is a Chinese prediction, must predict it in chinese calender. for eg, your age now is 29, but in chinese calender you are 30. So you need to check at column age of 30. The month of conception also need to check to the Chinese Calender. Normally if conception done is June, normally chinese calender is shown May.

I haven't found out the gender yet, but I read the you have to change your solar age and conception date to lunar. That's how the Chinese used their chart back in the day.... for example, when I put in my regular age and conception month, it says I'm having a BOY. But, when I enter in my solar age which is 28, and solar month which is February - it's a GIRL. I had to look it up because I tried a number of different Chinese Gender Predictors just to see if they'd all say the same thing and the ones that asked for my actual birthdate, instead of my age (calculate your lunar numbers for you) said I was having a girl... guess we will find out in December!

Yes it was right for both of my pregnancies! And it was right for my friend with her other two pregnancies and she is pregnant again so we will see if she is truly having a boy like it says. So far I am a believer :)

Spot on! I looked at several Chinese Gender Charts and surprisingly they are not all the same. But since The Bump's due date calculator was the only one that was right in line with the date from my doctor, I decided to go with this one. Can't wait to meet the little miss!

Nope! Second time the prediction was wrong. With both my first and second pregnancies (and I know exactly when both babies were conceived), it said I was having a girl. I'll have my 2nd BOY in December.

You are supposed to enter in mother's age in lunar years, not the regular age we use here in America. For example, a girl who is "19" can be up to 21 in lunar years, so be careful when calculating. Type in calculate lunar years to google to find out. The Bump should really put this on the info section.

im TTC, but i checked with my moms pregnancies. 3 out of 4 were right! according to this, i should have been a boy! we just found out my sister is pregnant and its supposed to be a girl - on this chart 11 out of 12 months says girl for her age! we shall see in a few months!

Worked for me twice, have 2 boys! Worked for my friends have 2 boys and the other has 3 girls! I must say I have to believe =) I even tried it with the dates and my siblings and cousins and everything, they were all right. ( I went to the reverse conception dates with birthdays and my sister was 6 weeks early so I even got that right ha ha! Born in March due in May!) I am hopeful it will get my girl next year we are hoping for =) Good Luck All!!

This chart is inaccurate. It doesn't factor in the woman's Chinese age. Don't count on this for gender prediction. Many other Chinese calendar's that are actually accurate and match eachothers prediction

It was wrong for me. I'm expecting a boy and it definitely told me girl. It also says I should be a boy, my brother in law should be a girl, my step-son should be a step daughter and my step daughter should be a step-son.
