re: Mother's Day Gift Giveaway -- Mama Mio Supermama Kit

Pamper yourself and allow yourself to have "me" time.. get a massage, pedicure, or even just go to the mall and get your make up done at least once a month or so.  When you feel good about yourself it shows, and others will notice.

Take time for yourself and learn to love the small indulgences - strawberries floating in your mocktails, etc. Splurge a little on maternity clothes when you are feeling especially not your best. Sure, you can't wear them forever but you might as well love them while you are wearing them!

Take a nice shower with candels and try not to think about all the stress in your life. Put on a nice CD of soothing music. When you get out just take your time and really lather up with lotion till you feel relaxed.

Make a date with yourself for some tranquil "Me Time."  Turn off your cell phone, put on some of your favorite tunes and take a nice, long shower full of pampering.  Indulge in the peace and quiet of time that's just for you, while you scrub, buff and wash away all your stresses.  Then, put on something that makes you feel extra sassy and do whatever you desire- read a book, sit outside on the porch with a tasty drink, dance in your living room.  It's all about you!

Make sure you don't leave stuff for the last minute. That's something I'm bad about. Take time to do things when you think of them. Also, take some time during the week to do things you really love. Allow yourself to have a mini shopping spree or just relax by the pool.

re: Mother's Day Gift Giveaway -- Mama Mio Supermama Kit

Let your other kids and your hubby take care of you! Don't say no when your daughter wants to paint your toenails, or your son want's to cook dinner, or your hubby wants to iron the clothes! Remember to tell yourself that you don't have to be in charge of everything, and that you may not get these great offers once everyone's attention shifts to the new baby.

I think that the most relaxing thing to do is let other people help you out with things.  It's okay for DH to do the laundry and dishes if he offers; even if he doesn't do them the same way you do. It makes you feel like his princess.  Also a little spa time never hurt anyone!

The best way for me to relax now that I am pregnant is to take a nice warm bubble bath and read a good magazine.  It would be even better and more relaxing if my husband would clean the house and do laundry so I can take that nice warm bath.

I took bubble baths all the time while I was pregnant, even when I didn't quite fit in the tub anymore. After my daughter was born I told my husband all I asked for was an hour each night to have "me" time which consisted of relaxing and unwinding in my bubble bath.

I like to make my surroundings very soothing with candles, music, write in your pregnancy journal, talk to  your unborn child, meditate, do some prenatal yoga to relax muscles..and then gently doze off to a good mid day nappy nap..zzz..

Take time to yourself everyday.  Sometimes you get so caught up in making sure chores are done, taking care of your lover or other kids and forget about yourself.  Take an hour each day to yourself.  Shut the bedroom door and take a nice nap, go for a walk around the park, play fetch with the dog, watch your favorite tv show or take a good book out on the patio and enjoy the book and the sun.

Pedicures are the best!  Also, I have DH run the lotion bottle under warm water and then rub warm lotion on my growing belly.  Even if it doesn't prevent stretch marks, it feels great!

I just had a baby, and personally, the best way to relax is to just sit back and picture what the little baby will be like! My days were so hectic... Running around buying stuff for the baby, trying to save money, having mood swings, fighting with my boyfriend... But as soon as I would just imagine what her little face would look like and how wonderful it would be to be a mommy, all that stress just melted away!!!

To take a moment (or two) for your yourself.  You're life will be consumed with your new baby for a while and it's important to step back and let others handle things.  It's ok to have dishes in the sink, dirty laundry waiting in the hampers.  When I am stressed out, I ask my mom to babysit for a few hours and I take a nice relaxing walk at a creek near my home.  I have my iPod on and just walk.  I always come back feeling refreshed and the time away lets me miss my son so I get to enjoy him all over again!

A hot bath, bubbles and a good book not required but a plus!  While I was pregnant, I loved to take baths and watch the baby move, which I could see easily since my stomach rose above the water!  It is so nice and beneficial to have some quiet "you" time doing whatever it is you enjoy.

Take nice hot baths (warm when pregnant) and just relax, your body is still healing from everything your going through or have gone through. I always have DH give me foot massages as well. Its so nice to just take a break from a busy day and have time for yourself, even for just a moment. The best way to relax is to do what you love to do, spa, bath time, read a book, sleep or massage! Do whats best for you, your mind and body!

re: Mother's Day Gift Giveaway -- Mama Mio Supermama Kit

Definately a pedicure while pregnant, that is heaven after a long day on your feet. This may sound silly but after having my baby I really think one of the most relaxing moments was when I finally got to head out for a hair cut, some may call it the "mom cut" but I got a "hot mommy" cut. That was invegorating

I find relaxation to be easier to come by when I've done some advance planning.  It really helps to spend some time over the weekend planning for the week (dinners, outfits, etc.), and then there's less stress to begin with during the week!

Make sure you arrange to get some "me" time every week to take a bubble bath or a nice long shower, then do something that is relaxing to you, whatever that may be. With the stressors that we go through every day, we sure do deserve it!

re: Mother's Day Gift Giveaway -- Mama Mio Supermama Kit

When I was pregnant, my best way of relaxing was to first turn the lights low, then I would surround myself with pillows, making the bed extra comfy and getting the weight off my lower back.  I loved to feel my baby kick during that time and I would just relax.

After I had the baby, my best way of relaxation was to first find someone to help out.  We're always so concerned about asking for help when we need it, but I threw all that out the window and called anyone who said to call them if I needed any help.  I had a friend come over once and take the baby out for a walk.  I took a shower and just slept in bed for a solid couple of hours in my quiet home.

While pregnant - get pampered! And enjoy the quiet and solitude as much as possible. Really enjoy your "me" time.

As a mom - take breaks! As hard as it is to take time for yourself, you have to do it, and you come back refreshed and ready to go.  I like to do a ladies' night with friends - dinner, drinks, and a husband taking care of the baby for a few hours so I can relax.

For pregnant mom's:

An inexpensive and easy way to relax: Take a walk somewhere sunny. The combination of walking and sunshine will boost your spirits.

For new mom's:

Totally free way to relax: I know it seems simple, but just hanging out with your little one can be so soothing. Find somewhere away from the daily reminders of household duties (the park, the backyard) and just lounge together. You might want to bring a camera so you don't miss anything :)

Take a long, hot shower or bath and just let the water flow all over to soothe and relax you.

Finding a picture or visualization of someone or someplace special that you can focus on during times of stress. Anything to distract Mom from the stress for a short time to refresh and "reboot" the mind.

re: Mother's Day Gift Giveaway -- Mama Mio Supermama Kit

I think having a to do list every day is a great way to get stuff off your mind so you can relax. I find that I am very forgetful when I am pregnant and when the baby first arrives. Writing stuff down lets me focus more on one thing at a time rather than repeating stuff in my head trying to remember it.

Have your husband watch the baby and take a long shower or bath without having to rush b/c the baby is crying-then have ice cream.  Ice cream always helps!

re: Mother's Day Gift Giveaway -- Mama Mio Supermama Kit

The best way that I have been relaxing so far is indulging in something "non-pregnancy" related. Sitting outside on a beautiful spring day with my feet up reading a great book helps me to relax. It takes my mind away from stressing about all the upcoming plans and arrangements that I have to make!

Cuddling with the baby is very relaxing.  Having the husband watch the baby for a little while so that you can do something for yourself is a good way to rejuvenate.
