re: The Bump Experts

I'm a day late for my period - took 2 pregnancy tests prior to being late and both came out negative. I'm ALWAYS on time right to the day, i have a 27 day cycle. When can i test again? What time of day is best i've heard the morning.

re: The Bump Experts

I just had an appointment (33 weeks and 3 days) and the nurse said my uterus was measuring small (should be about 33, measured at 27) and now I'm worried.  I haven't had any fluids leaking and I don't think the baby has dropped, so what else could this measurement mean?  And is there anything I can do?

re: The Bump Experts

holly- it just means exactly that, your baby is measuring small, unless you and your SO are extremely large people then its not a reason to be worried. It can mean that you may have your dates mixed up by a week or 2(so no planned c-sections or planning to induce labor should be considered because of this), but its most likely thst your baby is jsut small, not all babies are exactly the same size remember. Your baby is small by the AVERAGE, but for it to be the average it means that theres a lot of babies bigger and a lot of babies smaller

re: The Bump Experts

fertility--well, sort of;

Less than a year ago I was hospitalized for a hemorragic ovarian cyst. I lost over 500cc's of blood and had to have emergency surgury. They had told me I was dying from internal bleeding and they didn't know why at the time. I didn't lose the ovary that had ruptured, but I have severe scarring over 75% of that ovary, as well as deep tissue and muscle scarring right above my pelvic bone from the surgury itself.

I have actually had a regular period, like clock-work, since the surgury... now I am 6 days late with severe lower back pain, up and down abdominal cramping, my boobs are really sore and swollen, I've got weird cravings, and smells that make me want to puke with the tiniest wiff...he also says I am more moody than normal. But the HPT was negative yesterday.

I don't know if it is safe for me to be having a baby so soon after that. I don't know if my body can handle it. I get recurring cysts about every 6 months or so that are pretty painful around the time I am ovulating but the cramps are never that bad, and I have gotten used to it. They told me that I shouldn't have a problem conceiving because of what happened, but I don't know what is going on. I know it isn't another one of those cysts for sure...I will never forget that pain.

We have not been TTC for many reasons, and we are both very nervous....

I am in the military and it is very hard for me to get in to see an OB/GYN any time in the next month and a half (i've checked, they are booked solid because of deployment requirements), but I thought that someone on here might be able to lend an ear and make a suggestion or two. I just want to know if my chances of becoming pregnant are high enough for me to worry. If they are, should I give it a little while longer until I try another HPT?

(I mc over 2 yrs ago because of a bleeding cyst on an ovary that I didn't know I had until it was far too late. The nurse doing the ultrasound said afterward that it was normal and didn't think to tell me about it. I had severe stomach pain through all 17 weeks...it was horrifying. I don't want to go through that again. I didn't even find out that I was preggo last time until I was almost 9 weeks, I even got an inconclusive blood test at 5 weeks.)

re: The Bump Experts

I just read that Jenna Jameson did 500 sit ups a day while preggers with her twins. Is that even safe?

re: The Bump Experts

My husband and I had unprotected sex two days before I was supposed to get my period. I am now 9 days late. I took two pregnancy tests because I thought I missed my period but they both were negative. Did I test too early? Could there be something wrong with me?

re: The Bump Experts

playing an instrument

I play the tuba in the church orchestra so it is on a regular basis.  I was wondering the appropriate time to stop playing.  I am 14 weeks pregnant.  What should I be lifting (weight wise) at this time as well?

re: The Bump Experts

How soon after you become pregnant will your breasts become sore?  I am wondering if my breasts are sore because I am pregnant or because I am a week away from my next menstrual cycle?

Acne

Ever since becoming pregnant my acne has gotten significantly worse and worse. Of course I struggled with it a bit after getting off of birth control, but that was 6 months prior to conceiving. How I'm pregnant and my face, back and shoulders are always broke out! I use a salicylic acid treatment now (Neutrogena). I quit using a benzoyl peroxide treatment (ProActiv) because that just wasn't working at all. I know that the new treatment will take some time to take effect but I just can't stand this much longer!

re: The Bump Experts

I am 19wks and 3days. I think maybe I have felt the baby, but I dont feel her alot yet. I had my ultrasound and the nurse said my placenta was in front. I s that why I am not feeling the baby move as much? And will I feel the baby move more, even with my placenta being in the frong? Should I be worried?

re: The Bump Experts

I'm about 6 weeks along and just read about Hepatitis B being passed to the child during childbirth.  When I was 10 I contracted Hepatitis B from a cousin that I shared a cup with.  I was told that I could never give blood because I was a carrier.  Obviously I plan to tell my OB about this, but my question is, should I go in to see her immediately?  My first appointment isn't until June 11th.  Should I get in there for treatment as soon as possible or just wait for that first appt.?

re: Seafood ?

How much seafood should I be eating per week? I know that it should be low in mercury, wild caught is better than farm raised. Should I be planning 3x a week? Thanks so much!
