"My favorite thing so far in this pregnancy has been when I first felt
our baby -- tiny bubbles and then a quick squeeze of the uterus..."
First time's a charm
My husband and I have been together for almost five years but only married since November. When we decided to get pregnant (or at least try), we were told by my doctor it would take awhile because of my health history with endometriosis and cervical cancer cells (I didn't have cancer, but I did have to get a biopsy). We figured it would take about 6 months, so we decided to start trying in January. Well after the first try, we were pregnant! I was worried it would be too soon for my husband but he was happy once we confirmed the pregnancy.
We had a rough first trimester, with bleeding in my uterus, but after 12 weeks and 4 ultrasounds, we got the clear ultrasound and I was no longer on pelvic rest (although I was still suffering badly from morning sickness and had to be put on Zofran). I am so glad the first trimester is done now.
Here we come, second tri!
We are facing the second trimester with a lot of excitement and anticipation! In the last couple of weeks the morning sickness has almost disappeared, and although it comes back with the new migraines, its not as hard for me. The growing pains are unique, even waking me up at night, but they come and go so it's not a constant bother. We've narrowed down the names too and are thinking Jaxson for a boy and Ava for a girl, though we're not sure of the middle names yet.
My favorite thing so far in this pregnancy has been when I first felt our baby. I felt tiny bubbles and then a quick squeeze of the uterus; at least that's how I would describe it. My biggest fear right now has come from my husband deciding we should sell the house -- I worry about waiting until the last minute to get the important stuff for the baby and about not having enough money or time to get things done. We are so excited to see our new baby in the next ultrasound, but I will have the tech put the gender in an envelope to open at my shower two weeks later. I am horrible at keeping secrets so I will probably mail the envelope to my parents and tell them not to open it. Here's hoping for a healthy and happy nine months!
