Expert Debbra Keegan

I'm going to start IVF in Dec. I had one misscarriage. I try two more IUI with no luck.  Everyone said since I'm under 35 I shouldn't have a problem.  Is there anything Icould do to increase my chance of a successful pregnancy the first time around with IVF?

Thanks

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

My husband and I just started TTC in Oct.  I tend to worry about everything and have always had this fear of not being able to have kids.  I am curious if I should be worried about getting pregnant....My husband and have not used any form of BC for over 1 year accept for the pull out method, never resulting in me getting pregnant.  Am I worrying too much or should I be concerned.  I know we just started TTC....just curious if I should maybe have some tests done to be sure everything is ok.

I'm 27, Husband 32. I have a tilted uterus and fibroids that have been removed. I also had to be surgically dialated due to a very closed cervix. My fertility specialist says I'm fine but It's been three years and I'm not pregnant. What can I do to increase my chances? Chlomid might be our next step...

I have had irregular periods since  I started having periods.  My periods were very irregular with maybe  two three months between.  we are going to try within the next year to get pregnant.  IS pregnancy possible even with irregular periods? I went on the pill to regulate.

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

Do you find there to be any connection between having difficulty TTC and women who have been on the pill more than a year straight? I'm coming up on two years on the pill and am concerned that I'll have trouble conceiving when we decide to try.

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

My husband just found out he had testicular cancer in December. He had a orchiectomy to remove the affected testicle and lump. Turned out to be seminoma cancer. He just started radiation treatment this week. He banked his sperm so we can try to have more children just in case of infertility from radiation. His sperm count was good at the banking, 87 million, although they swim crooked. We have one child already, so we know that we could get pregnant before. My question is, if he is sterile after radiation, what type of fertility treatments would be recommended for us, and should he check his sperm count before we start trying or after we have tried for a while? Thank you!

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

My husband and I are in the TTC process and I have a question about my ovulation dates.  One month my cycle was 28 days and the next month it was 21 days.  How would I determine my ovulation dates, do I use 28 days or 21? Thank you.

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

My husband and I went through the IVF process and curreently we are 7 weeks.  The last two ultasounds they were concerned because they couldn't find a yolk or a fetal pole.  I also had some bleeding last week.  Should I be concerned or is late development common?

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

can you see endometriosis on an ultrasound??  I had an ultrasound to check my ovaries because my left one was way off to the side and really sore. it came back clean- there were no cysts or anything weird on them. but i'm concerned i might have endometriosis. can you see that on a US or do i have to have a laparoscopy to check for it?

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

I have been on the pill for the past 7 years and my husband and I just started trying to conceive.  I began taking a digital ovulation test about 14 days after my last period and have taken one everyday (I'm currently on day 18 after my cycle) and have yet ovulate.  Is this possibly due to the birth control?  Is this normal to not ovulate the first month you get off birth control?

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

Hi I am new to ALL of this. My husband and I are looking to start "trying" in November, and hopefully be pregenant my at least January, I have been on BCP for about 9 years. My dr. said it should not take any time once I get off the pill to concieve, BUT I am wondering if I should get off the pill 1 -2 months before to get my body ready???

Thank you in advance!

Hi, I have been trying to get pregenant for two years and it is just not happening. I do not know what to do next. My OBGYN has done all that she can do. She wants me to go see a feritlity doctor but my insurance does not cover the services. She also told me that my testorgen level is high. Is there any thing that I can do for it?

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

Hello all... we are TTC #1 since we are together 2004 didn't use any pills or protection at all. I have regular periods on 27 days, never missed them, regularly visiting my ObGyn, since I have family history of ovarian cancer I lost my one and only mother from it:( Last November had HSG check up, my tubes are clean & my DH had semen analyze & got Dg. with low sperm motility. We are trying natural way still since Doc told us that the chances for getting pregnant after HSG are very high, but nothing still happened.

I would like to know do I need to do hormonal tests??? I have never done that in my life, my ObGyn said that I'm perfect no need to test?!? but how can I be perfect when I never ever have been pregnant?!? I start thinking to make some changes first change my ObGyn, whom I see for more that 5 years! Any advice from your side will be welcomed. Thank U, God bless you all with baby angels!:)

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

Hi,  I just underwent  (at the age of 30) a Bilateral Salpingoopherectomy.  For those of you in the real world that means that I had both ovaries and both fallopian tubes removed, in my case due to severe endometriosis.   I am 2 weeks postop and doing well.   I was wondering what my options were for having children if there are any.  I still have my uterus, but the Drs. were unable to save any of my eggs...my ovaries were to damaged my the  endo.

I am Simran 24 years old and TTC since a week, I had a question as i was going thought the questions on your website and had a question. as when we are planing is it possible to get cramps, back pain before miss my period OR the first symptoms is always missing of menstration cycle? As my last period was on 19th March its 30 days cycle and we started planing from 26th march but i usually have some cramps and slight pain in my back and lower abdomen. Is this Normal or need to consult a docter?

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

What are the odds of actually getting pregnant on one of the first two tries?  I know in theory it takes only one time/try but I was just wondering.  My wife has been the pill for I think the past 7 years; we only have been together for 5.  She just stop being on the pill about a few months ago (I think it was in December or January) per doctors orders for a little bit of high blood pressure.  She has been pretty regular the past 2 months and this month she is off a couple of days.  The reason I ask is because this past month was the only time we had sex without protection.  Once was about a couple days after her period finished and the other time was around the middle of her cycle.  Thanks

Question for Expert Debbra Keegan

I am a 25 year old female and have been trying to conceive for 2 months now.  My husband and I are FIU graduates, so I was very pleased to see you are a faculty member.  I am concerned about my cervical mucus or lack thereof hampering my ability to get pregnant.  We have been practicing NFP for the past 4 months. Before that I was on the pill for about 6 years. I can tell by my BBT that I am ovulating, but I hardly ever see stretchy mucus.  This month I have only seen one day (day 11 of my cycle).  I usually only see tacky mucus and am dry for the most part.  Should I be concerned?

thanks.

My husband & I have been trying for close to 5 months now but I am concerned about my periods. I have irregular periods and have always had that problem. We are TTC but not sure how to go about it not knowing when I'm ovulating or when I'm not. I know you can try the ovulating test but are there other ways you can tell? We need some suggestions and some help. :)

re: Expert Debbra Keegan

I've been on the pill since Feb 09. So I guess that would make it right about 4 months now. But my husband and I are now wanting to conceive. I know sometimes it takes longer for the BC to get out of your system. I have been off the pill for about a week now and according to an ovualtion chart, I am ovulating this weekend. My husband and I have been trying every night for the past 3 nights. Is it too soon from me being off the pill to conceive? Or is it possible I will conceive this month?
