The dr. scheduled an induction for Tuesday, June 30 due to high bp and swelling, but as soon as I got to the hospital, the contractions began right away. I had been having BH contractions all through the night.
The pitocin was started at about 7:00a.m. just after the dr. broke my water. I was 4 cm dialated. Pretty soon, the contractions became VERY intense and almost unbearable. The epidural soon arrived at about 7:30/45 (ish). He also put a spinal block in at that time too because they were so intense. I though I was going to break poor DH's fingers off.
I was checked again about 10a.m. and was dialated to 6cm. Checked again at noon and was 8 cm dialated. The nurses said that it would be push time soon.
They came back in at about 2:30 (ish) and began preparing the room for his delivery. I pushed several times. The dr came in at 2:50 (ish) and said that she would need to use the vacuum because I was still so numb. It was set up and baby Aidan arrived at 3:11p.m. on June 30, 2009.
