Metformin making me sick

I stopped taking metformin after my daughter was born but started it again about 6 months ago because my cycles are crazy again. I've never had bad side effects with it until now.

I switched to the extended release 2 weeks ago and I am still having GI issues. Does anyone have any tips to make the symptoms any better?

I'm on 2 tabs (1000 mg) and take it with dinner, however if I forget and take it on an empty stomach, I still do not experience any side effects.

IUI 1-3: Clomid, Gonal F, Ovidrel + Prometrium = BFN

I have found that the lower carb I eat the less symptoms I have.

Are you taking it with meals? I try to make mine in the middle of my meal. I'm on 1500 mg of XR but I take 750 with breakfast and 750 with dinner. When my does has gone up I have always had a few weeks of an adjustment period.
