Adjusting to daycare

Hello - I haven't posted here since DD#1 was very young but I need some advice.

We have recently been going through a lot of changes:  DD had a little sister in the beginning of April which was also the time DD stopped at her previous daycare, we moved cross country in the end of April and my mother came to visit/help out for almost 3 months (spending lots of time with DD#1).

Well, the grandparents left last weekend and on Tuesday, the girls started daycare in our new town (we went to visit once and DD loved it!). Adjustment has been really hard for DD (the baby is doing great). Today is day 3 and she hasn't spoken a word there yet. Drop-off is pure torture and she cries hysterically and holds on to me for dear life! Her daycare provider told me that she cries a lot during the day too and it just breaks my heart. As soon as she sees me when I pick her up, she bursts into tears again and won't leave my side.

I feel really bad and was wondering if you guys have any advice on how to help her out - or do we just wait it out? I can imagine it is very overwhelming for her and besides from this, she has been adjusting wonderfully to all the changes in her life! She adores her little sister, loves the new house/room, likes her big girl bed (new also) and is generally a very happy girl.

TIA

give her a few months to settle in - it takes time!

I try to talk to my dd a lot about daycare too - at home and in the car on the way there

how it's FUN and she gets to play with her friends, and the slide and the sandbox (all the stuff she loves)

GL! it'll get better!!

It does get better. My LO is on his second week at daycare and cries everytime we drop him off. But he stops after we leave and if fine the rest of the day.
