CP: IMAX or regular?

We actually have a date night coming up...woohoo!  Yes, seriously, I get excited because due to a variety of reasons (DH and I work opposite shifts - he's third shift (police) 4 days on/2 days off with a lot of forced OT right now due to at least 3 others on his shift on leave right now and I'm M-F 8-5 heading into the busy season; my mom is really our only babysitter and because of her busy schedule and that my dad is an a**hole so it is rare we can get her, it is college football season, etc.) these are very few and far between.

Anyway...the new James Bond movie comes out next weekend, we have Mom lined up for Saturday night...and hence the reason for the poll.

(On a side note, I have yet to open the most recent Walking Dead post...I haven't yet watched Sunday night's episode.  I had to torture myself with the World Series.)

IMAX or regular theater

Should we just head to the regular theater around the corner or venture up to the IMAX about 45 minutes away for the new Bond movie?  I have never been to an IMAX (besides what they have at Cedar Point) so not sure it would be worth the trip and a few extra bucks admission.

Take advantage of your opportunity for a date night and go to the IMAX theater!  I do like seeing the IMAX versions of movies, and you can always watch the regular version on DVD/Blu ray when it's released.

Check out Kevin McCarthy's review.  He always suggests whether to see in IMAX, 3D or regular.

I refuse to waste my money on IMAX if it weren't shot for IMAX.

I didn't vote because not all IMAX theaters are created equal!!!! The technical "IMAX" experience means it's recorded specially, there's special sound, etc. However, it's not worth it to me AT ALL to get all that without the HUMONGOUS screen that's standard with many, (BUT NOT ALL IMAXes.)

So, scout out the IMAX first. If it's a giant screen, GO FOR IT. If it's not, skip it.

(I drove half an hour to see The Hunger Games in IMAX in a small theater with a small screen.... sooooooooooooooooo not worth it.)
