Holiday shopping

Tis the season....

What is on your shopping list this year? I have finished shopping for DS. On Christmas, he will get a bike, a basketball goal, a tonka construction truck, a magnadoodle, a few thomas train sets, a barney and elmo, and I got a few dvds and treats for his stocking. I have no clue what to get my husband or what I want this year. Did any of you ladies brave the after Thanksgving sales? I went shopping on Friday with friends, and it was a ghost town at Walmart and Target, but we loved it, because I got all the items that I went for. Love this age, where you get some fun things for your child and not spend alot, and they are happy with whatever you buy!

I'm finished for my DS as well...he's getting: 4 books, 2 DVDs (Cars and Land Before Time), a Choo Choo Soul CD/DVD combo, a matchbox storage container, a sock monkey hat, Lightning McQueen slippers, and a Pottery Barn toddler backpack. I also got some little construction trucks and 2 trains for his stocking. I still want to get a few more things for his stocking...socks and some treats probably. It sounds like a lot...but I didn't spend much money on it all really.

My DH and I are just doing stockings for each other, no big gifts. I did get him a T-shirt from a local store that I thought was super cool that I'm going to stuff in there.

I'm also done with my brother, my niece, my mom and MIL, and my dad. Only person I still need to shop for is my FIL. Plus Logan and I are going to make some ornaments that will be from him to his grandparents.

I never go out shopping on Black Friday...I'm just not into it! I like to take my time and compare prices online.

DD is getting a Nintendo 3DS, Tablet, puzzles, a game and I think thats it.. Maybe some art items too..

My mom got DD a new loft bed with desk so She is making out like a bandit!

My mom is getting DS a bean bag chair, leapster 2 explorer and 1 game.. She probably has other gifts for both that I don't know about yet..

We don't have much to spend on Christmas this year. Thankfully she doesn't understand the cost of things just yet so she'll be happy just having gifts to open.  I'm going to follow the 4 gift rule this year.  1 thing she wants, 1 thing she needs, 1 thing to wear, 1 thing to read.  I've already gotten her a box set of Curious George.  I'd like to get her some jammies to wear.  And then some sort of toy.  She has a little kitchen she got for her Birthday and I'd like to get her a tea kettle that whistles and a little toy toaster if I can find one.  Then we'll just fill her stocking up with goodies.  DH has been out of work since July so it's going to be tough this year, but I don't think she'll know the difference.

I love this idea. I usually do this for the stocking. Something yummy, something needed and something fun. I know what you mean with money being tight. We are in the same boat. Thank God, I could get almost all of his presents without breaking the bank. My husband has been out of work due to illness, and we are praying that he can get back to work soon. Hang in there, and know that 2013 has to have better days in store. That is our current motto!

We aren't going to do a ton of presents this year. DS already has too many toys. So far I have bought him a train set & trains, a play tool kit and some books. I am going to do some smaller stocking stuffers like bubble bath, play doh and some cars.
