It could be heart burn or gas. I have been getting terrible indigestion pains there.

Yes, if I'm doing something that requires me to bend a lot (most notably when I'm doing laundry), my ribcage starts aching from everything being so squashed.  It isn't interfering with my sleep, but  lately I have to take multiple breaks while folding clothes.  So frustrating!

I am not sure if this is what you are experiencing, but I have had HORRENDOUS rib pain along the bottom of my rib cage and below my sternum since about 20 weeks.  At first I thought it was from wearing under wire (which caused some rib bruising as my belly grew), but it just continued to get worse when I switched to non-under wire bras.  I then researched a potential yeast infection or chafing issue - but the problem is not a skin problem.  Best I can come up with, between talking to my MWs and scouring the web, is that your ribs expand and irritate nerves around the edges of your ribs as your belly grows, especially if you are carrying high.  I have found that keeping the area super-moisturized and wearing bra as little as possible both help, but neither have alleviated the pain. :(

Yep.  I had the same thing last pregnancy too - starting at about the 25 week mark.  For me, lucky as I am, it was the baby causing pressure on everything internally.

And lucky, lucky me, it started even earlier this time.

Yes, I have this too. At times it is just excruciating. My doctor told me it is all normal and it is just the baby growing and my body stretching to accommodate. I take frequent walks around my job because when I sit to long it becomes pretty uncomfortable.

Sleeping is pretty rough for me too, I can NEVER get comfortable. Fortunately the weeks are ticking by pretty fast, only 9 weeks left!

Yes I have this too and its killing me right now.  It feels like my ribs right underneath my chest are breaking or are concave and collapsing in on themselves.  I also have back pain in the same area, but only on the right side.  It doesn't bother me at night (yet!) but it hurts me all day at work where I sit in a cubicle.  It doesn't bother me when I'm walking or standing.

I talked to my chiropractor about it on Friday.  She said its probably because I'm carrying high and the baby is putting pressure on my ribs and organs.  I did have a few ribs out of place.  She did some muscle work in the area, but it didn't seem to do anything.  I'm going back tonight.  I did put some moist heat on it Friday and that actually did help the aching a bit.

I'm all ears on advice.  I'm miserable!!
