Low Lying Placenta

I had my 20 wk u/s two weeks ago. Last week I received a phone call from my OB saying that I have a low lying placenta. We scheduled another follow up u/s for January 2nd and she told me to take it easy and to be careful if we choose to still have sex.

 Has anybody had experience with this? I'm trying to not be too concerned, as my doctor said that in 95% of cases, the follow u/s shows that the placenta is "moving up" as the uterus grows. But of course I sit and worry and get stressed.

YES! I have this too...i have to go back Dec 26. I was told no Sex at all and to not worry either. I am trying not to but i want to be able to give birth naturally! So still crossin my fingers that it moves and being thankful i still get to see my little girl a day after christmas!

I was told this as well on Thursday.  We were told no sex as a precaution and have a follow-up at 32 weeks.  I had such a great delivery last time that I'm terrified of a c-section.  Good luck ladies!

I had it with DS. At 28 weeks it moved.

I was told at a/s last Monday that mine is low as well. I was NOT told to avoid sex but I will have a follow up scan end of January (around 26 weeks) to check & make sure it has moved. The midwife & ultrasound tech were both confident it would be a non-issue  Wink

Me too!! I go back for a follow up scan on Dec.27th.  It will be nice to see LO again, especially since my mom will be here for Christmas and I'll be able to take her with us :) 

  However same instructions here..no sex, exercise, or lifting over 20lbs ??!! Which is pretty impossible since DD weighs about 25lbs.

yeah, mine is somewhat low too apparently, but they didn't mention avoiding sex.  I was already scheduled for more ultrasounds, but they pushed the next one up to 26 weeks instead of 28 weeks to get a better view before the baby gets too big.

I have this as well. Mine was diagnosed after two trips to the ER for bleeding and a trip to a specialist. I was told not to worry and I'll have a follow up at 24 and 28 weeks.  I was told to SIT DOWN AND BE STILL!! Thank goodness I have an office job..lol
