ovulation test help?!?!

So I'm suppose to be ovulating Thursday. I took a test last week and of course it came back with broad clear one line negative. I just took another one today and the negative line was faint and there was a very faint line next to it. Could I actually be ovulating soon? It's so hard to read these tests. I'm really hoping for BFP soon hubby and I have been trying for 9 months now and nothing yet.

I'm sorry you've been trying without success. That being said, your OPK is not positive until the test line is AS dark or darker than the control line. The light line you saw does not indicate anything other than the fact that there is some LH in your system at this time - but many women always have some amount of LH in their system at any given time.

In regards to you ovulating on Thursday, may I ask how you came to that conclusion? If you are using a period or fertility calendar/tracker/etc, that is likely not accurate. I would advise you to click on the ticker in my siggy, which will take you to Fertility Friend. You can read the tutorials and learn how to chart your cycles. I highly recommend you consider charting your basal body temperature so that you can confirm you are ovulating.

I also recommend that you read the newbie link at the top of the page - it is full of great information.

Welcome and good luck!

I've been testing OPK since Friday (so Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday) and all have had faint test lines.  Today's was darker than yesterday's, but it's still been 4 days of faint test line.  I am predicted to O tomorrow, but may not, who knows.  At any rate, you could still be days from ovulating, just keep testing until it's clearly positive.

You're suppose to be ovulating on Thursday? Says who?

If the test line is not as dark or darker than the control line on the test then it is negative. Keep testing until you get a positive. Usually everyday or even twice a day.

Sounds like a faulty test.  Control lines are not usually faint.  If you're going to use OPK's you should use them every day starting around CD10 otherwise you could miss your surge.  You could be ovulating soon or you could have missed it.  There's really no way for us to know.

I suggest charting your temps.  Thats the only way to know for sure if/when you ovulate.  Click on my ticker and take the tutorials at fertilityfriend.com.  GL.

I track my periods and used a ovulation calculator and just by tracking it it says I am fertile this week and should be ovulating on Thursday. My cycles are 31 days

I would caution starting to use OPKs on CD10, as a general rule - it really depends on the length of your cycle. I have cycles around 25 days, and I got my positive OPK on CD9 last cycle. I believe there are charts on the internet that can tell you when you should start testing based on your previous cycle lengths.

Those calculators often are not accurate because every woman is different. As I mentioned previously, go to fertilityfriend.com and learn about charting your cycles to pinpoint ovulation. There is also a lot of useful information about charting other fertility signs and using OPKs.

You're right.  That's why I said around CD10.  I suppose I could have gotten more in depth with my response, but since OP is past that point I didn't elaborate.  OP, check out http://www.peeonastick.com/opkfaq.html for good info on OPK's.  #8 has a chart for reference of when you should start using them in your cycle.

All of what cora said.

Also, I've noticed a lot of newbs think tracking their period = charting.  It is NOT the same thing.  Do as PPs have mentioned and check out fertilityfriend.com and the tutorials they have on charting your temp to confirm ovulation.  That's the only way you'll know for sure.
