Silhouette question

Cameo or Portrait?? I might not get either because it's a little pricey for what it is, but if I do, is the Portrait worth it or should I hold out for the Cameo?  Also - I do have a good friend that has the Cameo, so I could probably borrow hers if I had a bigger project!

It really depends on what kind of projects you want to do!

I had the Cricut Create and the mat was only 6" wide-- I found it to be very limiting when I wanted to do 3D projects like small boxes. If you plan on doing small embellishments or small decals, I would think that the portrait would work for you. But if you plan on doing larger embellishments/decals, tshirt designs, bigger 3D things, etc I would spring for the Cameo.

They have a bundle on Scrapbook Steals today for $269!

ITA.

I really like having the option of cutting on a 12" wide mat.  Personally, I'd hold out for the cameo.

Confession - I just looked on my Amazon registry and someone bought me the Portrait for Christmas!!!  I didn't know about the website mentioned above, which is an awesome deal, so maybe I'll return this one and spring for the Cameo.  We'll see...I'm just excited to have one at all!

Hold out for the Cameo! I find even 12 inches to be limiting sometimes, I would be so frustrated with only 6 inches to work with.

I got the Cameo Tool Bundle off of Amazon for $230 (NEW!) back in August. Add it to your Amazon wishlist and keep checking back, it goes on sale every once in a while! :)

(I would say add all of them, tool bundle, vinyl bundle, ect. to see which goes on sale first!)

I had the old 9" Silhouette for a long time.... loved it, but when I accidentally knocked it to the floor and broke it, bought the Cameo. LOVE that even more, but I do TONS of stuff with it, including an etsy shop, so something smaller would be extremely limiting. Whatever you decide, ENJOY! :)

I have a Cameo and I love it. I use it all the time. I thought it was pricy too, but, it's so worth it. You have so much freedom with it.
