Speechless.

I went in for my first ultrasound today and the gestational sac was empty.  I was a little worried that I had no m/s and minimal symptoms but figured I was just one of the lucky 25% that don't get it.  The corpus luteum is still producing progesterone, which is responsible for whatever "pregnancy" symptoms I was having.  I have to decide between D&E and misoprostol/Cytotec but making any kind of decision right now seems impossible.

We are heartbroken but I consider myself incredibly lucky to have 5 embryos in the freezer.  We'll do an FET when we're ready, but not until after the new year.

ETA: And I can't make my ticker go away.  Insult, meet injury.

Sometimes with tickers you have to log all the way out and then back in.  Or try clearing cookies.  Tickers on this site suck.

-32 -queer -partnered with Manada
we each want to carry (at different times)

Manada was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve and we did 4 IUIs with Manada between Dec and Apr

1st IUI December 19, unmedicated, BFN

2nd IUI January 16 with Femara and trigger, one follicle: BFN

3rd IUI March 13 with Puregon (follistim) at 225 per day; two follicles but second was small: BFN

4th IUI planned for mid April. 100mg Clomid cycle days 3-8; two follicles: BFN

starting with me now

we knew about a blocked left fallopian tubes and found out in May about ovarian cysts, and fluid in my left tube (hydrosalpinx)

planning for a repeat HSG and then possibly/probably laparoscopic surgery to remove the left tube

may try more IUIs with Manada while we sort out my tubes or may just be on hold for the summer

I'm so so so sorry to hear this :(    I hope that lots of positive support and love finds you in the coming weeks.

Same sex couple - 31 years old - donor sperm, carrying our first due to dx of DOR/POF in Nov. 2012.

Low AMH, AFC - 6, Normal FSH, SS-A (RO) Antibodies (Autoimmune issues), tubes clear

IUI# 1 - December 19 - Done too early (24-36hrs before Ovulation) - BFN

IUI# 2 - January 16 - Femara + HCG trigger - BFN

IUI# 3 - March - 150-225iui Puregon, stimmed 16 days with only 1 follicle - nearly missed surge so no trigger - Progesterone - BFN.

IUI # 4 - "Pokey-Pokey" April 9 - 100mg Clomid CD 3-7, HCG Trigger + Progesterone - 2 follicles! IUI done after one O'd and before the 2nd one did. - BFN

...Moving on to trying to get my Partner pregnant with donor sperm. Hoping to come back and try with me, or do IVF with my DP's eggs eventually. My nerves are too frazzled for now

Thanks everyone.  It's been a rough day.  But at least I finally, somehow, managed to get rid of the f***ing ticker.  I was starting to worry I was going to have to watch it "grow" into a new fruit every week for the rest of my "pregnancy."  Vomit.

I read this in a Curve mag article not long ago and wanted to share:

Me:35, Using frozen donor sperm. 2009-2010 - several non-medicated "at home" frozen donor sperm cycles = BFN
IUIs 1-3 in 2010 = BFN
4/2012: IUI #4 w/ new RE = BFP Missed m/c due to turner syndrome at 9 weeks, discovered at 12 weeks 3 days on 6/21/12. :(
Summer 2012 IUI 5 & 6 = BFN.
Was planning on moving onto IVF but insurance is requiring 3 injectable IUI rounds.
11/12/2012 - IUI #7 75 gonal-f cd3-12 + trigger. = BFP on Thanksgiving!
Beta 1 at 14dpo = 261 Beta 2 at 16dpo = 639 Good NT scan and Negative MaterniT21 test. It's a boy!

B&C, my heart fell when I read this on the IF board but thought I'd come over here to comment. I was so excited when you got your BFP! I just thought nooooooooooooo :(  5 in the freezer is awesome, but good that you are taking a little time before FET. My thoughts are with you and your wife.

Together 7 years and legally married in 2013!
Me: 41 (Excited to carry!) DW: 44
June 2012: First RE appt.due to age + plan to use DS
Sept 2012: Both fallopian tubes removed due to blockage
Dec 2012: Donor Egg/Donor Sperm IVF Cycle - BFP! EDD 8/29/13
Mar 15 2013: Missed miscarriage at 15w4d(discovered at 16w1d via home Doppler).
Mar 22 2013: D&E. Tests showed death due to (fluke) blood clot in umbilical cord. :( Genetics all good.
May 24 2013: Hysterscopy to remove uterine adhesion post D&E.
We have three frosties. Hoping for FET in late July 2013!
We live in Seattle and used SRM for our Donor Egg IVF cycle.

I'm so sorry. My mom went through the same thing (empty sac) when I was 10, and I still remember how sad her and my dad were.

I guess I don't have any advice - but if it helps even a smidge, know that a year later my sister was born. She's 21 now, and pretty much the best.
