SandAndsSea:I do think you can fail as a mother by being lazy and I don't think it's that uncommon.
I don't know if it's a generational thing or what, but I feel like so many of the just-out-of-college generation is lazy and it annoys the heck out of me. They want to do as little as possible to get by and no one is invested in their career! They have graduated from college and should be professionals, yet I'm finding most of them to be soooo irresponsible, not dependable, and lazy!!! We are a professional services firm and our clients depend on us!
I take exception with this. I've been out for just 5 years and I work my ass off. I hate when people who are older than me just assume that because a few of "my" generation suck that all of us are irresponsible, not dependable and lazy.
I work, take care of my house and family, never miss a bill payment, cook dinner, and make my career a priority, just not my main priority. God, Family, Career.

I hate giving gifts to DH's extended family. We never gave aunts uncles and cousins gifts in my family and I think its ridiculous and stupid to do so.
