Tomorrow morning we will meet the new RE that will do our FET. I'm hoping to get some cycle dates lined up and come up with some kind of a plan.
And on another note, I am 99% sure I figured out who the original donors of our embryos are by doing a quick google search for some specific terms. Our donor "V" got the embryos from these original donors 5 years ago. I can say with 99.9999999% certainty that I found them because they were in the media in the mid 2000s so there was a ton of details about them. They had the same doctor that our donor V used and other charactaristics about what we know of them match this family EXACTLY. Once I started digging, I found they had a facebook page and their kids look exactly like the little boy born from the batch to V. I'd like to tell V what I found, but as you can imagine I am hesitant even though I don't think the original donors have any legal stake in the game, I just would hate for there to be any drama.
I would love for us all to openly known each other one day though. Since they were so open with their story in the meda, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be shocked if we approached them down the road. And I'm also pretty sure V wishes she knew who they were because she's always talking about how she'd love to thank them. What would you do?? Crazy situation that only those of us involved with ART could even imagine we'd be in!
