I think the point of both drugs is to delay ovulation. Ask your RE or nurse to explain the reason why, because I never quite understood it, but I think it has to do with over-supression issues, and using it is supposed to help increase egg quantity, but not necessarily quality. However, if you have twice as many eggs, the odds of more being good does increase.
That sounds like a ton of Follistim, 300IU/day, assuming a 10 supply, and only 1 vial daily of Menopur. I'm not sure why so little Menopur compared to Follistim, but that's between you and your RE. My first cycle I started off at 150IU of each (2 vials=150), and went up twice until I hit 300IU each before coasting to 0 for Follistim and 2 vials Menopur. This time, I started off at 225IU each, and stayed on those doses the entire time.
As far as the MDL goes, I took 20 ml twice daily, as close to 12 hours apart as you can get. I started two days before stims, took it all the way through stims, and the morning of my trigger shot. It's just like taking a stims shot, small needle, and doesn't really hurt, and the lupron doesn't sting.
I believe the shorter BCP window was due to concerns about over-suppression as well, so hopefully a shorter period of this will help you too.
So, have you decided when you are going to get started? I'm guessing you'll be on BCPs pretty soon if you have the bday in mid-Feb.
