I'll share my FB pity party with you ladies. FTR, I'm an elementary music teacher.

I'm nervous today about returning to work. It's not because I'm afraid of something terrible happening. I've used every last thread of my faith to get me through that fear. Instead, it's a fear of what I'm going to say to the child that asks me if I can keep him safe, keep him protected, keep him alive. Because I know my answer is going to be that I will do everything I can to do those things, but we both know that sometimes that isn't enough. How can a child begin to learn anything I'm teaching if she doesn't feel safe in my classroom? I pray that everyone finds a way to make it through this week and the many difficult questions that will be delivered to us.

Oh steel, I'm so sorry. You are in such a tough spot :-(

 I honestly don't have it in me to *** about anything going on in my life. I've held Athena closer than ever this weekend (I'm suprised I haven't suffocated her), and slept next to her every night.

I feel the exact same way Steel. I'm a kindergarten teacher, so this event truly hit close to home. :(

I feel for you steel. Everytime I close my eyes I see my students and wonder how I can keep them safe.

No pity party from me ... I have my baby, I am lucky.

My mother in law did my husband's laundry when she was over watching LO. I have told her in the past that I don't want her to do the laundry since I have a certain way of doing it. She rifled through all of my dirty panties, etc. to find DH's laundry to do. I was so irritated because I felt like she totally stepped on my toes (since I have told her not to do it in the past), and violated because she touched my personal, dirty items! Grrr!

Normally, I don't get too stressed out at the holidays... but think that's going to change this year!  We are travelling about 6 hrs away.  We haven't been on a long trip with DS since he was 6wks old - so not sure how that drive is going to go.  We're debating about going Friday night after work thinking that he'll likely sleep most of the trip.  And, i was making up the list of thinks we need to pack for the weekend - damn, this little guy requires a lot of stuff!

Mine is lame this week but here it is. My work computer died this morning and it will probably take until after Christmas to replace it. I'm using a vacant office but it has no phone and no cell reception so I have to go back to my office to place phone calls and pump. Pumping is so boring when I don't have a computer to work on. Thank goodness for smartphones.

So sorry for all you teachers...I can't fathom how close to home that must have hit.

My pity party....  I am moving on Thursday.  Yep, closing on my current house and new house and moving, all in one day...5 days before Christmas.  I am crazy.  Things were going really well.  But now Elise is sick.  Hopefully she will be better and back at daycare Wednesday.  And the first winter storm is coming on guess what day?  Thursday.  Ugh.
