So, Anyone else's Babe NOT crawling yet?

Just curious!  Some days I feel like I'm getting close to the last one without a crawler.  I want her to crawl when she's ready, but I'm so excited for her to do it.  I'm secretly hoping for Christmas.  Seriously, that would be the biggest present for me.

Edit - let me just add that the only part of me that is wanting her to crawl soon is the part that worries she won't crawl at all.  Oh, I know it's totally fine if she doesn't crawl..it's just the inside girl of me talking that always dreamed of chasing my own crawling baby around.  I dunno why, but it's a stage I don't want her to skip.  I'm a sentimental sort.   I am/have been perfectly content with her sitting in one spot, it's the skipping a stage that I don't want her to do:)  Also, yup, she is getting on all fours.  Only been doing that for a week now.  So I truly am hoping for Christmas.

E started crawling 2 weeks ago. She's not much older than your LO, and I had no concerns about her not crawling. Now she is all over the place, and I have to keep an eye on her constantly to keep her older sister's toys out of her mouth. Now, all I want her to do is pull herself up and start walking. Is LO on her hands and knees, rocking back and forth, or going backwards, or scooting? Some babies don't ever crawl, they just scoot or get up one day and start walking. You might wake up Christmas morning, and she's crawled right into all the presents and opened them up!

Mine Big Smile I'm not worried, they're not "late" or anything. Quite honestly, I can't say I'm terribly upset that she relatively stays in one place. DD rolls and scoots herself to where she wants to be. She can get in full up crawl position, but just doesn't seem to care to actually crawl. What she DOES want to do, however, is stand. If you go to sit her down she stiff-legs it until you just let her stand. She likes to stand up with the couch. I'm kind of concerned that she's not going to crawl at all and just start walking. From what I've heard they've disproven that skipping crawling is developmentally detrimental, so that's a bit of a relief.... but we're not ready for a walker! But Excited, you're not alone. Let's enjoy this stationary time while it lasts Party!!!

My DD is nowhere near crawling. She tried so hard like a month ago and now she doesn't even act like she wants to. I'm okay with her not crawling, or even acted interested in it. I know there is nothing wrong but that maybe she really doesn't want to. I just learned from my mom last week that I never crawled but went straight into walking, so maybe she'll be the same way?

My DD only wants to stand. It makes it so hard anymore when I have to hold her because she will stand on my hip. She can also stand on her own, which I am so not ready for! Her favorite thing to do is stand on my feet while I walk so it looks like she's walking. Fun for her but it kills my back from bending over to hold her hands while I walk.

Dd will kind of scoot where she wants to be but never goes more than a foot or two of distance. I kind of expect crawling to be like sitting up. Dd had no interest until she decided she wanted to and then suddenly she was good at it.

Our LO just started really doing it without whining to be pickedup about 2 weeks ago.  I was starting to get concerned too, and then we saw her crawl/chasing the dog. :)

I have one of oldest babies on the March board and he just started less than a week ago. I was kind of surprised because he was hitting all other milestones early but not worried. He'd been scooting around on his butt for awhile and I really didn't think he was going to. My husband was picking him up from day care and set him down for a second so he could put his own coat on and Alexander just took off. Luckily, my husband got his phone out fast and got the whole thing on video so I didn't miss anything. Within 3 days, he started consistently pulling to a stand and cruising. It is literally amazing how much has changed in less than 7 days' time.

As much as I hate to say it, though, everyone was right. Now that he's moving around like crazy, I miss being able to sit him down and know that he'd be safe for a second while I turned my back. Not anymore!
