CF mamas: throat culture and lab result question

So Judith had her quarterly clinic visit last Tuesday (delayed since we had to take the next available appointment because Hurricane Sandy caused us to cancel, but I digress), and I just got her lab and culture results back today.  She is culturing MRSA in her lungs (thankfully no pseudos on top of it), and they're going to put her on bactrum.  Also, her liver levels were elevated for the 2nd time in a row, and they're going to do an abdominal u/s to check things out and get a baseline.  My question is do any of you have experience with either situation?  How hard was it to get rid of the MRSA for a clean culture?  And what do the elevated liver levels mean?  I know the mucus can clog the liver, but I refuse to Google anything else after learning my lesson the hard way (twice).

We don't have any experience with MRSA or liver issues, but you guys are in our prayers. I hope MRSA is gone with a round of antibiotics.

Ugh...so sorry to see this.  I know how awful those phone calls are.

We haven't had either of those issues (yet) but there are some moms on the CF Mamas page on Facebook who are dealing with both of those issues.  I don't know if you're on Facebook or not, but it's a closed group with a bunch of active Moms & a couple of Dads.  They might be able to give you some additional info.

Thanks!  I've been stressing with the antibitoics because she's not taking the bactrim no matter what we do, and the on call doc at the clinic still hasn't called in a prescription change so I have a feeling we'll be on another round after this one.  I'm pulling my hair out, because she doesn't fight other antibiotics this badly.

I am on FB!  Is there a link that I can follow to request to join?  The liver issues are freaking me out a little more because I'm not finding a lot of research, and the nurse coordinator won't be back in the clinic until Wednesday so my questions are going unanswered.
