Little update

DH and I have been considering adoption.  First thought we'd try for a young child from Russia.  Then were talking about adopting a child from Reece's Rainbow.  I got the application filled out for the home study but haven't mailed it yet.  The boy we were interested in is blind, and my husband is very nervous about that.  He doesn't say it, but I can just tell.  He says let's go for it, but he doesn't seem excited about it and seems frustrated when I bring it up.  So everything has been on hold for the past month. 

I still really want to try to adopt this boy.  He desperately needs a family, but DH has to be on board as well.  So I have shown him a couple other kids on Reece's Rainbow that maybe he would be interested in.  I found one today that may fit the bill.  So I'm going to show him tonight and see how he reacts. 

Also, everyone check out http://reecesrainbow.org/ if you get the chance.  Sevenly chose RR for their cause this week.  They have some great shirts for sale which will help these children.  And who knows maybe you'll fall in love with one of these kids yourself!

I love Reece's Rainbow : )  If you do a lot of shopping online you can actually use iGive and choose Reese's Rainbow and it gives corporate donations - Amazon participates and so do a lot of other big websites.

Congrats - very exciting! Would love to talk to you more about this and our husbands. We are in the same boat but haven't raised $ or done any paperwork. I'm due in April with our first child, but feel like adopting a child from RR could really take off once she is born. Are you in their official Facebook group?
