MIL Pacifier troubles. Ick

My MIL came over to watch DD and as I was leaving DD dropped her paci on the ground.  What does MIL do?  Put it in her own mouth and then into DD's.  UGH!!!  Seriously????  Apparently I didn't freak out ENOUGH about it because two days later she was showing me how she let DD lick an icecube and right in front of me she put the ice cube in her own mouth then let DD suck on it!

I think she thinks I'm a germaphobe or something but grownups catch a lot of stuff that DD isn't vaccinated for.  What if she had a cold sore?  FIL has Hep C and they both have to get tested for it all the time.  I mean really, KEEP YOUR SPIT OUT OF MY KIDS MOUTH!

 Ok, vent over.

No, I wouldn't be mad, too!  We aren't supposed to do stuff like that because we have germs in our mouths that can cause gingivitis (sp?) in LO's. In fact, I'd be more than mad, I'd be PISSED and not ler her watch LO anymore.

Well I can't keep her from watching DD, but I was sure to be emphatic about the point and explained that Hep C is transmitted through saliva.  I also tried to make her feel guilty about it and to think about if DD caught it and it was her fault.  I HOPE it was effective!

I hope so, too! My MIL does dumb stuff, too. She gave LO honey when she was 4 weeks old. Ugh.  I was soooo angry!  Sometimes, as hard as it is, we just have to share our feelings and brush it off as long as LO doesn't get sick!

Eh. We do that kind of stuff all the time. Of course, I'd worry with the Hep C, but under normal circumstances, it's really no big deal. Of course, I have never been a germaphobe and I don't even use hand sanitizer or require others to do so [the horror?! :o ].
