Beta question

Hello, I have been away from the board a bit do to being really busy. I do need some advice I finally got my BFP after three plus years of secondary IF. I am three days late and I had my first beta yesterday it was only 55. I go back Thursday for my second test hoping it doubles. I just wonder if 55 is too low will this baby stick!! I appreciate any feedback you can give. Thanks!

I really don't want to freak you out or make you panic at all... First of all how far along are you? My first beta was done and I was at 4 weeks 5 days and was only a 34. I mc 4 days later and had a beta of 4 at 5 weeks 1 day. If it's still early then that could be a reason it's low, if you are further along then it may be a problem. However, I have seen people with a 12 and 20 as their first go on for a great 9 months with a wonderful baby at the end, so there's really no guidelines... Best of luck!!

I am about 4 weeks 2 days the cramps and brown spotting stopped. RE said could have been late implantation but I am still worried!!

For my first pregnancy, my first beta was 55 and that was at 5dp5dt, which would be the same as 3w5d.  Did you do any treatment this cycle, or was it totally natural?  If it's the latter, perhaps you implanted a little late. 

I wouldn't be too concerned just yet.  All you can really do is wait for your 2nd beta and go from there.  FX that everything continues to progress favorably for you!

10/10: Married DH; 5/11: Dx: Blocked Fallopian Tube; 7/11: D&C/Hysteroscopy to remove polyp
IVF #1: 9/11: ER: 12R, 11M, 10F, No Frosties; 5dt: 2 blasts, 1 morula; DD born 6/3/12
IVF #2: 11/12-12/12: ER: 20R, 20M, 16F, 4 Frosties; 5dt: 3 blasts, DS EDD: 8/23/13

Thank you both for your encouragement. It was my third clomid cycle and I also used 200mg progesterone suppositories. Come on beta double!!

Are you for sure on the day you o'd? Did you do trigger or have ultrasounds for confirmation? You can still have a late implant even with treatment and hopefully it will double and all will be well!!! Try to relax (I know near impossible to do...) But unfortunately it is a wait and see type of problem...

I had Sono at day three to check for cysts then clomid days 37. I had positive OPK on day 13/14. I just really need to relax and stop worrying.

For my first IVF my first beta (9dp3dt) was 45 and my second beta was 91 (barely doubling).  It resulted with DS.  :)  GL!
2nd ectopic resulted in loss of tube. HSG revealed remaining tube is "severely torqued".
IVF #1: ER 03/29/10; ET 04/01/10: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 (9dp3dt)- 45; Beta #2 (11dp3dt)- 91= BFP
FET#1: ET 04/18/12: transferred 4 embies; Beta #1: >2 = BFN
IVF #2: ER 06/20/12; ET 6/25/12: transferred 2 embies; Beta #1 on 7/5/12= BFN
8/16: hysteroscopy for polyp removal
11/11: hysteroscopy #2 for yet another polyp removal
FET#2: ET 12/15/12: transferred 3 embies; Beta #1 (9dp5dt): 12/24/12: 426; Beta #2 (11dp5dt): 845= BFP
u/s 1/9= triplets!; miscarried all three on 1/10/13

I just know you are going to have a good update! I O'd late with DD and my first beta was 90 when we thought I was over a week late and it when up to 180 which was just doubling but she will be 6 in May! Good luck and sticky baby vibes coming your way!
