Hmm... almost sounds like my work, except I get invited but I'm not allowed to attend because someone has to stay and answer the phones. We had a potluck on Wed. and one of my co-workers was nice enough to get her food and then come sit at my desk and answer the phones (that didn't ring) while I got my lunch and then sat with me and ate while everyone else sat in the conference room directly in front of my desk.
It was so nice of her to sit with me, but that usually doesn't happen. Sometimes one of the girls will sit and eat and visit and then cover the phones for me after she's done, but usually most of the food is gone by then and most people have gone back to their desks so I am stuck sitting there trying to inhale my food before everyone leaves.
We had a big company meeting on the 14th where they went over the last year and what to expect for next year and I still haven't even got a re-cap or anything. For all I know this place could be shutting down (although I doubt it since everyone came out smiling with a bonus check in their hands).
