Sleepeasy, swaddling, and pacifier

If you did Sleepeasy and your LO was still swaddled and using a paci, did you wean of either of these before starting? I am not sure if I should go cold turkey with swaddling before we start. The last couple of nights I have tried to stop swaddling and she still wakes herself up. So, I give in and reswaddle her and put her in her swing to get back to bed. I am feeling so guilty but I need to sleep. I am so tired of playing the pacifier game all night too. Every 30 minutes...really?!

I am exhausted and ready to try it out (after the holidays and craziness settles) so I just wanted some helpful hints from moms who have been there.

We had already stopped swaddling. I still put him down with the paci, but I don't replace it at night anymore. The first few nights he would wake and fuss for about 5 minutes, then find his fingers and go back to sleep. Now he fusses for a few seconds b/n sleep cycles but never fully wakes. It is such a blessing to not be up 12 times a night for that paci!

I stopped swaddling my LO when he was 3 months old and I've never gone in to replace the paci. I've been warned about that vicious cycle and once you start, it's hard to stop! If it falls out, it falls out. I do put 2 or 3 in his crib so he can always find one :)

Honestly I would just do what works. If your little one still likes to be swaddled I would still swaddle. But I do know what your talking about. We ended up doing a modified CIO, because DS did not want to be swaddled anymore- screaming for hours trying to get him to sleep is what cued us :/ .... We have not gave up the pacifier though! It is the only thing that stops his crying (eventually) at this point and puts him to sleep.

ETA: we do not have to keep re- inserting the pacifier. Although we used to have to but that was a phase that he grew out of..

How old is your baby? Your still using the swing? I might try to wean her from that first. We used to use the swing for naps and that was the first thing we got rid of. It was a battle but consistency worked. Whatever you do just stay consistent.  Is your baby ready to be unswaddled?
