Growth spurt?

LO is eating constantly! We were on a pretty good schedule of breast feeding every 2.5hrs during the day and 4 hrs at night- but everything changed 2days ago.

He is cranky and acts like he is starving, but falls asleep after emptying 1side. I try to keep him awake, burp him,and hold him upright for a little while.. But he is out. As soon as I lay him down, he's awake and hungry again!

1. Does this sound like a growth spurt? (he's 6 weeks today)

2. Any suggestions for ways to keep him happy/satisfied longer?

Thanks!

Yep sounds like a growth spurt! Hunker down with some snacks, water and good tv, and hopefully it will be over soon! Good luck!

Sounds just like what I went through the past couple days with M and it was definitely a growth spurt. He had a checkup today and he has grown 3 inches and gained almost 4 lbs since birth! He will be 6 weeks Monday

Stick with it. For M it was about 3 days. It's tough at times but you can do it!

LO's should have a growth spurt around 6 weeks. Hallie's only lasted a day or so. I basically grabbed some water, snacks, and the remote and didn't get up all day. They can be exhausting but you'll make it through! It helped me to give Hallie to DH for a bit. Since he didn't have the 'goods' she was calmer with him.

I found that M gets calmer with DH sometimes too and I was wondering if it could be that he doesn't have the 'goods' lol. I really think that has something to do with it!
