Breastmilk/WCM/Formula

Hi all,
So I have a problem. So far, I have had enough milk for both boys. The last two days I have been coming up with less milk though. I am pumping about 4oz less than before. Still pumping a Hugh amount but it scared me. So I figured I could give Alastair one bottle if formula or wcm a day and the rest bm. Well. He refused both. Like throwing a fit of rage refusing. So far so good. I can always make him drink water or whatnot, but he used to drink both just fine before he got breastmilk.
What do I do now? Do I start mixing? Do I ride it out hoping my supply is going back up? Wwyd?

Also, any suggestions on maybe increasing supply again? I do eat oatmeal, drink huge amounts of water, I made lactation cookies, have not changed anything pumping wise. I mean there is no real issue yet, but I would love to be able to give both boys breastmilk over the winter.

Have you had a period yet? It could be a sign of that coming soon. If that's the case, it should just be a small, temporary dip. I hope it is something simple like that so it fixes itself. GL!

Never even thought of that. Yuck. I had such a great run. My last period was in November 2010. Well, maybe. I sort of hope that is what it is.

Change the membranes on your pump, too, if you haven't yet.

This is what I was thinking. Nursing I can produce enough and she'll drink it but if I tried to pump I barely got anything and it smelled different. Less sweet.

This was my thought.  I would ride it out and hopefully your supply will pick back up.

You might try some Mothers Milk Plus it tastes TERRIBLE but it did work for me when my supply dipped a couple of weeks ago.

I agree that it could be caused by your period, my supply always dips drastically right before I get mine. The only thing that really helps for me is eating A LOT and taking a prenatal vitamin. I also agree with changing the membranes, it can make a huge difference in the amount you pump.

I agree with everyone else... it might be your period coming but change your membranes, drink extra water, have a dark beer, and do all the usual tricks to see if it helps.  In the meantime though, I'd probably try mixing WCM with the breastmilk for Alastair to see if that helps.  GL!
