bedtime tantrums?

Sorry going to PW a little since I haven't been able to bump for a few days....

Anyone else having tantrums at bedtime?  A used to be really easy, we'd eat dinner, bath/shower time, play, then brush teeth, books, and bed.  Now anytime bedtime is mentioned we get the royal fit and full on tantrum.  And when we leave him for sleep he has started crying again before actually falling to sleep.  anywhere from 5-20 min.  (longer ones have been when I've been at work and H goes in a couple times to soothe)

Is it just too much upheaval in his routines?  I just went back to work after maternity leave last week so I'm not home 3 nights a week. H has always been the main bedtime person though.  A just started daycare last week so he wakes up earlier and is so tired we are putting him to bed an hour earlier between 7 and 730, so is he just overtired and that is why tantrums are more? We've been traveling due to holiday commitments so every weekend things get a little wonky anyway since we are usually at family's places instead of home. or D hard to tell / all of the above and we just got to wait it out.

Our routine hasn't changed at all, but DS definitely brings on the drama when it's time for bed.   He used to go to bed with no problems, but he has increasingly been full of tears when we say it's night night.  He often cries himself to sleep, but sometimes he's so hysterical, I feel badly and will take him out of the crib and rock with him in the chair.  But I know it's all an "act" because he soon becomes more interested in looking around for his toys than rocking and cuddling with mommy.

I just attribute it to his age and being too busy for bed.  A's change of routine could be part of it; hopefully you'll have an easier time once things get more settled.

We're having the same problem. I think we have officially hit the age where staying up is "cool" :-/. How unfortunate! We've been trying to just keep the same routine and ignore all of his requests to, "Turn the light on," "Read more books," "Go see Daddy/Mommy." He has been going down a bit later though because I honestly dread the power struggle.
