Hi everyone,
Briefly about myself: I'm nearly 32 weeks pregnant, diagnosed with incompetent cervix, currently 4-5 cm dilated, 75% effaced. I was recently discharged from the hospital, currently on modified bedrest. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday during which the doctor checked my cervix and said there had been no change since I was discharged from the hospital. Felt fine for the rest of the day, surprisingly little discomfort from the pelvic exam (that doctor is very gentle).
Since I woke this morning, though, my pelvis has felt very heavy, like during menstruation. Not really cramping and only occasional contractions but the only way I can describe it is that my vagina really aches! I have a heating pad between my legs right now and that feels good.
I've already gotten steroids and I know they wouldn't try to stop labor at this point so I only need to call if I think I'm about to have the baby. For those of you diagnosed with IC, what were your signs that you were dilating? At what point should I be concerned? In the meantime, I'm lying down and taking it easy.
Thanks!
