NBR: stupid storm

It has been snowing or sleeting or raining or something most the week here. Now today is raining, wet and windy on top of all the snow. All that means, power outages.

His family is all showing up here tomorrow at 10:30am for our Christmas.

He just got put on storm duty until at least 7 tonight. Won't know more until later.

MIL has funeral she has to help with the reception for on Sunday afternoon. Xmas Eve and Day are out. I already have half the stuff made.

We aren't cancelling or changing right now but his family knows it is a possibility. I'm hoping that at the worse we can just change it to tomorrow afternoon. He should be back tomorrow 5am at the latest but he may get called back in. He can only legally work 24 hrs in a row then has to do 7 off, no more than 17 on. But if he gets called back in, he needs that time to sleep.

In general, I hate change of plans and not knowing things. Then you add Christmas into the mix, not impressed. Not about to have Christmas with his family without him. That just spells bad idea.

Storm pay= good

Storm messing up life= bad

So. Frustrated.

I'm sorry!  I am in Ohio and we are getting the snow too, but not dealing with the possible change of plans.  I am a teacher though and we still had school today.  We did not get released early and three cars were in the ditch when I left school...at least one of them had our students in it!  Hoping everyone can stay safe in this weather!!!

And here I am wishing for snow! I'm in Chicago, and we were supposed to get hit Thursday (they even cancelled some flights in anticipation) and we got a whopping 1/10th of an inch.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst - that's all you can do. Do you get along well with your ILs at least?

They annoy the crap out of me. Hence, the would not go well if DH wasn't here,

He was home by 11pm so we were able to keep our plans.
