I totally understand where you are coming from. With a little one due around Christmas well I can't help but to shop. And budget is already preoccupied with baby budget, Christmas etc.
I always found it easier to have someone with budget sense come with me. Either my mom or best friend. Both of them are not afraid to say" do you really need that?" Just to have someone say that makes you think twice and put stuff down.:)
