Prolonged periods with either of our families makes us appreciate the other.
I like his family for not being a complete zoo (complete with poo flinging monkeys) every time there's a gathering... my family is loud, and obnoxious, and crude.
I like my family for not being passive aggressive. If we have an issue with something someone says, does, wears, or makes faces about... we say so. MIL makes dramatic sighs of exasperation, and then waits til you leave to tell anyone who's still around what she would've done if she were me (or whoever is on her sh*t list for the moment).
