Nanny questions if you have 3 or more kids

Still deciding two versus three kids...

How much do you pay your nanny if you have 3 (or more) kids?

How do the logistics of a vehicle work out?  We would have enough trouble fitting three carseats in our cars--expecting a nanny to have a large enough car seems pretty unrealistic. Our oldest is little so she will probably be in a car seat for quite awhile still.

Thanks!

I nanny for a family with 3 little girls, but started as their nanny when they only had 2. I'm paid fairly low for going rate in my area, but I got a "raise" of 1.50 per hour when the youngest was born. They also purchased a mini van for use taking the older two to and from school and approved activities.

We have an au pair so our childcare expenses are fixed no matter how many kids we have.  As for the car situation, we drive a minivan for all the kids, I picked up a cheap "commuter car" to drive to and from work so we could leave the van home fore the au pair.  If you don't have the $$ for another car, there are several car seats out there that are narrow enough to fit three in a row in most small cars, Radian and combi come to mind off the top of my head.  We have a nissan versa and honda civic for our "commuter cars" but we also use them when we don't have to take all the kids with us, and we can fit several combinations of seating in the back.  My oldest is 7, but he is still in a 5pt harness seat.  I

f you are going to purchase seats for your nanny's car, just have her come with you so you can "try before you buy" the seats.

I pay $1.50 more an hour for 3 then I did for 2. As far as car, I WFH and have a minivan. Nanny drives my van for all the drop offs and pick ups, kid classes and fun outings. We have a 3rd vehicle, a old truck, that I use if I want to go somewhere and she has the van.

We have a nanny and won't be paying her any more when we have our fourth child.  However, we decided BEFORE we got pregnant that we were going to give her a $500 bonus twice a year as long as she is doing what we ask of her.  She started before our oldest was in school so we figure that for 3/4 of the day she is only responsible for two kids.

As for the vehicle part...we leave her the van to drive.  If we both needed to drive that day she could fit all 3 kids in the back seat of her car (a booster and two car seats) and she drives a Ford Fusion.
