Solids

Did it take your LO awhile to catch on to solids? LO is 5.5 months actual and 4 months adjusted and the pedi said we could start cereal. We've been trying off and on for a week. Today she opened her mouth for the soon, but I'm not sure if she swallowed

We are not to solids yet but I s/o first foods I've been learning a lot about how cereal is not necessarily a good first food, if you're interested:

Just thought I'd share since I myself just recently learned about this whole debate.

We discussed this with our pedi and she said we could skip cereal if we wanted, but she doesn't see any reason to. We are using oatmeal based instead of rice.

DS was 6/4 mo. when he figured out cereal.  It is a new texture, so it can take a while.  We didn't push it, just kept offering until he eventually got the hang of it.  I wouldn't worry.  GL!
