Your thoughts on naming our twins?

Boy/girl twins due in May...

Our top boy name is Vaughn -Carlton Carlton after my FiL.

Girl we're still not sure, however
I do want to use my maiden name as a middle name as we're undecided on more children after these two.

Violet - dh's top pick
Norah Dale -my top pick
Elouise Annette -wouldn't use Dale
Elora Dale

Thoughts? Also, how do you decide? I
Don't want to 'give in' and settle for Violet, but I want DH to love her name as well.

I like Eloise, but not Elouise......

But I guess I really love Violet, it's one of my favorites that I'll probably never use. I like Norah Dale also, but I don't love Elora.

I agree with this.    Violet is beautiful and I would have loved to have named DD that but our last name starts with a "V" so I didn't like that so much.  I don't know thought if I like Violet with Dale.  The prettiest to me with Dale is Elora.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I know sometimes you will say 'you like this, so have you thought about this...' as we're still undecided and open to suggestions.

This is tough! First, I like Vaughn. 

For the girls, I love Norah. Also, I love Violet. I seriously am having trouble deciding which I like more! I think I will give the slight nudge to Norah, but they are both really lovely names, so whichever you decide will be great! Dale works too for the mn. I don't think many people would get the Violet Dale thing (I know I wouldn't have!) and even if they do, that's okay too since it has meaning for you.

My cousin's named her baby Norah and I really think it's pretty, but I personally don't like the middle name as Dale.

Vaughn ~ Love it and it's not common.  Our friends just named their son Vaughn. 

I like Violet and Eloise as well.

I like Vaughn and Norah together.

I like Norah Dale. I think it's pretty.

I do NOT like Vaughn and Violet for twins. Too matchy.

I think that if you're naming Vaughn Carlton partially after your FIL, then I think your vote for a girl name should have a bit more weight. Especially if your children will have their father's last name. It's called compromise!

I like Vaughn and Norah a lot for twins.  Vaughn was on my list of names but it just did not go with our last name.

The rest, including Vaughn, are NMS.

I don't like Vaughn- sounds like a surname and not a nice one to use as a first name.  I think Violet and Vaughn are too matchy.  I don't think you need to compromise as much on the girl name if your H had a big part in naming the boy.  I like Norah Dale and Elora Dale.  I think Dale works in the MN spot especially when paired with a feminine FN.
