Godparent question

So I just recently became a Godmother. What do I do for a Christmas gift? We will be seeing them on Christmas. Yes, I realize I dropped the ball here and it's last minute. That's how this Godmother rolls apparently. Baby is 7 months. Book? Little People Nativity? Frame? Ornament?

I like the Little People Nativity idea. But this close to Christmas, it could be hard to find. You can't go wrong with books IMO.

I didn't know if the gift needed to be spiritual.

My brother's godparents gave him a really cool Christmas ornament every year, and mine bought a nativity set and gave me one piece each year until they ran out of pieces.

Ditto this. DD got the nativity last treat at six months. While she only used it briefly last year she had been loving it this year

I like all your ideas.  Every gift doesn't need to be religious, but it is nice when you can find one.  One of my fave gifts (and my oldest godson's) was a Noah's Ark rug for his play room.  He even napped on it!  LOL

that is a great buy. My kids still love their little people nativity set. FWIW I would be a clueless godparent too, I know nothing about that.

That's a wonderful present!

I am a godparent for one nephew, but not my other nephew or niece... So I give them gifts as "aunt" not as "godparent". It would be mean to single one out as more special than another. If I were the godparent of a friend's kid, then I would give a godparent gift though...but if they had siblings, I'd have to give something to them too!

My best friend is DD's Godmother & usually just sends her regular gifts not religious.  The only religious gift was for her actual christening.  It was a necklace with a cross charm on it from Tiffany's!  Score for my at the time 1 year old!!!! She hasn't worn it & won't for many years.  Her Godfather usually send her a very nice dress for Christmas & some sort of toy for her birthday so he doesn't give religious gifts either & he's very Catholic! So I don't think all gifts from you have to have a religious theme to them.

I have seven godchildren. I do not typically do religious gifts for Christmas or birthdays. One of my daughters godmothers has done a charm bracelet from James Avery that is very sweet.
