No Cereal?

If you didn't do cereal for you baby - what did you introduce first? And what did you use as a guideline? I think we are still a month or so away from this but I would like to do research before that day comes.

We did cereal, but you could do a fruit or veggie puree first.  Some people don't even do purees at all; they start right off with regular food and let baby gum it.  It really is a matter of personal preference.

We waited until 6m adjusted and went straight to BLW. In the past week they have tried cucumber, avocado, banana, peaches, green beans, and prunes.

Judith hated cereal so much, so we never really did it on it's own.  I started with a fruit puree, but you can also do a veggie or even yogurt.  Add new flavors slowly, like once every couple of days, so you can watch for possible reactions.

We followed normal introduction guidelines and started with veggies, then moved to fruits.

I mostly used the lists here and checked with our pedi to be sure

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

We waited until 6 months to start solids and mainly give finger foods.  Daycare wasn't comfortable offering finger foods when she was so young so she gets a puree and oatmeal there but at home it is pretty much all finger foods.  Just in the past week I have really seen her take off with getting food to her mouth, chewing and swallowing.
