Rolling over.....ALL the time!!!

All my LO (5 months old) wants to do is roll over. At night and nap times are the WORST! He cannot roll from belly to back yet and yet he continues to roll over and then cry for me to roll him back. It's getting really old, he does it at least two times a night and its like a 30 minute ordeal of constantly rolling him back only to find he's rolled over again and again. I've let him sleep on his belly thinking he wanted to sleep like that, but he still waking and rolling.

He was a GREAT sleeper. He can put himself to sleep, he used to go down after about 15 mins of self soothing in his crib, and we have a great bedtime routine which we have been doing awhile now. But with this rolling over issue he's turned on us. I do not know what to do. Anyone else experience this??!?!! What can I do?

What you described your LO used to be was the same as my DS. I can put him in his crib awake and he'd fall asleep within a couple minutes. Over thanksgiving when he turned 5 months that all changed because he learned to roll onto his tummy. We had a few straight nights of waking up crying or not being able to fall asleep because he constantly rolled onto his tummy! Fast forward a couple weeks and he still hasn't learned to roll from belly to back!!! But he seemed to have accepted sleeping on his belly now. We are somewhat back on our regular sleep schedule of waking up once at 4 or 5 to feed only difference now is he is on the belly. Good luck to you! It's tough and TIRING playing the rolling game with LO! Now we are battling the teething phase...grr...it's one thing after another but I guess welcome to parenthood for us!!

Just as I read this LO rolled over and my husband ran in to get him back to sleep before he got too worked up. DS can roll both ways and is a tummy sleeper but usually once he rolls from tummy to back he wakes himself up. His rolling all day I think is just a new freedom to them, they can move more now. But DS rolling in the crib is when he's uncomfortable or fussy.

We had the same issue so during the day when he would do it I would let him fuss until he rolled himself back over to his back. He learned to sleep on his belly in the crib at night but he doesnt fuss anymore if he rolls to his belly during the night or during naps, he just wakes up and rolls back over to his back.
