That is frickin' ridiculous. Do you want to give me their phone number so I can yell at them on your behalf for their insane stupidity and insensitivity?
Even if you hadn't suffered a loss it would be insane (what if you needed a c-section? what if you were out of town and needed to go to a different doctor or hospital?) Under the circumstances, that is inexcusable.
