CD moms, yet another question

We just moved 3 weeks ago and we have crazy hard water and all my diapers that never leak are leaking everytime. I think I need to strip them. If you've stripped diapers before what did you do? If you have hard water what detergent do you use and how much. I use tide between line 1 and 2.

I did a lemon/vinegar soak and then rinsed a few times. Some of the ladies in my cloth diaper FB group do an overnight lemon soak... I left mine for a few hours.

I've used RLR before, I also have used Dawn detergent. Both work well to help 'reset' the diapers.

I use Tide powder as well. It works to get the diapers clean but I do see buildup. I've tried RNG Hard Rock but my diapers never seem to smell clean.

I've never stripped diapers, so I can't help with that but we have hard water here. I use rockin green hard rock bare naked babies and it does a good job cleaning the diapers and keeping them absorbent. I just have a regular washer, not a HE one, but I don't know if that makes any difference.

About a tablespoon I think. And then do a few rinse cycles after to make sure you get all the suds out. If there's any bubbles, keep rinsing.

We have crazy hard water and I use about 2 tablespoons of Mountain Green and so far so good. They always come out smelling clean and are super absorbant. We live in Phoenix which has some of the hardest water in the nation and this was what was recommended by the cloth diaper shop we go to.

I don't have any advice on the hard water, but I had to strip my diapers recently. I stumbled upon this website and it helped a lot!

Sorry it's not clicky!

This is what we do, too.

When I was looking into CDing I read that tiny bubbles detergent was good for CDs and its super cheap. I got it at Costco for 68ish that was 6 boxes. I use it for DS' laundry now. It's highly recommended and made especially for CDs.

I've never stripped, so I can't help you  there, but I found this website the other day and its super helpful for cloth diapers.

I have hard water too, and I'm looking into calgon water softener.  Right now I use Ecos detergent and after its gone I think I'll try tide powder on the recommendation of the website above.

we have super hard water and I love Allen's naturally. I usually do a warm pre wash, heavy duty hot/cold with an extra rinse. If I see any bubbles on the final rinse I add another. I'll use about one and three quarter teaspoons. I do feel as though I have to do more rinses than most other cd'ers but they are always super clean and don't have staining.

before you do a crazy dawn strip, I would run a few heavy duty hot cycles and try to get the residue out that way. Keep going until the bubbles are gone and reevaluate. Good luck!

eta: I believe using dawn will break your washer warranty so that is something else to consider!

Never stripped, but I have very hard water. We use one scoop of tiny bubbles.
