DS wasn't into food too much until the last month. We did purees and really skipped right to finger foods, he likes to do things himself so I just let him figure it out. We have had more luck with the finger foods than purees, LO was the same though he wanted thicker I think. At first it is nervous feeding it to him but they figure it out, and he is just getting his first tooth so he gums it all just fine.
