Dang it. I have a real pregnancy question- Braxton-Hicks

I don't remember this from my first pregnancy.

While I was making dinner, I had a few bites (just to taste, I swear) and suddenly I felt extremely nauseous. I haven't felt too great most of the day, so I kind of wrote it off, but my stomach got (yeah, I puked) tight at the top of my bump and I feel a lot of pressure near my rib cage.

I drank a couple glasses of water and sat down on the couch. I haven't experienced the tightening again (I'm assuming it was Braxton-Hicks, but the bump says not until 28 weeks?? whereas other sites have given me different information).

I should just drink more fluids and sleep it off, right?

I haven't been feeling great all week, mostly due to running around like crazy getting ready for Christmas. And I've also been having B-H for a few weeks now. I think the water and rest should take care of it. Feel better!

They can start anytime.  I'm only a FTM, but I was in the hospital yesterday with braxton hicks.  Turned out to be because I have a UTI, but they were definitely there!

Oh, also, my doc said that they were not worrisome unless they were painful, accompanied by bleeding or happend more than 4X / hr.

At my 13 week u/s the tech said I was having a braxton-hicks. They are not always painful I guess, especially not that early on, but can happen any time. She didn't think anything of it and said it was completely normal. She just pointed it out as a matter-of-fact. It just looked like a little bump that LO was resting on.

you can get BH at anytime in pregnancy - at 7 weeks, 19, 30, 40 weeks - it happens and they are not a big deal. as long as they are not constant and dont have any bleeding

If you were having stomach distress, it could have just been related to that and not BH.

Either way, you can get BH earlier than 28 weeks. My OB recommends to push fluids and put my feet up when I have them frequently.

I agree with all the PPs have had to say and wanted to add one thing. BH can start super early and are your body's way of conditioning/practicing for the real thing. Most women don't feel them until third trimester, hence the reason most people don't think they start until then. I noticed mine at 16-ish weeks.

I think I experienced this last night. It was a tightening really low. Very uncomfortable. It felt like I needed to stretch out ir something. Does that sound similar? Im almost 19 wks.

They actually start at 6w, but you're too small at that point to feel them.  With DS1 I felt them starting at 20w, with the twins I was 12w, and this pg I started feeling them at 11w.

I've been getting them since about 17 weeks. I've read before that you actually get them throughout your whole pregnancy but they aren't always noticeable!
